When you swing the blades about 5 times, they simply won't swing on the 5th try. They won't swing. You are left defenseless.
I've died plenty of times due to this bug. |

Did you check to see that you hadn't run down you stamina meter?

Myth: Using Nova Knives uses up stamina.
Verdict: BUSTED
There is absolutely no stamina being taken up while using the knives. Charged or otherwise. |

Myth: Nova Knives are in the same category as the melee.
Verdict: BUSTED
According to the server inventory system, the Nova Knives are actually considered sidearms despite the fact that you're swinging them like a melee weapon. On top of that, Myofybril Stimulants have no affect on the knives. |

To address the OP's concern, what you're experiencing is a glitch. And a bad one that has cost many of us knifers to lose our clones needlessly. Interesting how the glitch kicks in right when you need the knife the most. |

I would understand if the knives take up stamina in the future. I would act accordingly, but since they don't take up stamina, it's a glitch that needs a nice patch.
I was in a room full with enemies so I start to work, then my knives freeze and I'm dead.
I had the flank of a heavy. I swing once and then a flollow-up to kill and they freeze. He turns and kills me. |

I think there is some confusion here. As far as I'm aware, using a charged attack DOES NOT use stamina. Using a standard melee attack while holding knives DOES use stamina. The first is significantly stronger than the latter. |
