maybe after the good players decide to get tanks because they're bored with suits.
not because the current tank-crop has a chance. |

Madrugars get a 100 hp/sec repair per module correct? 1 missile landing would out DPS its reps, and you have 5 of them... just saying. A shield tank gets 1k regen from it's booster, along woth 100+ native regen correct? |

All vehicles will have fragile cool-down periods and limited ammo, so there will be no long duration domination.
You will have short burst mode domination time, but that will have to be managed carefully.
If CCP gets it right both sides will be equally unhappy, but challenged. |

Negative. Many tankers will cry after all these releases because they still won't have their god machine trolling the battlefield unhindered.
Tanks are being tweaked, AV is being tweaked with them.
Balance will attempt to be achieved (or so one can hope) between people just starting MLT tanks, to vets with properly fitted ones.
Hopefully it wont take 6 months of capping SP to properly defend against AV, as well as hopefully it's still a game of rock/paper/scissors, and a lone AVer can take out a tank that makes a mistake on their cooldowns or gets too cocky without an escape plan.
I see it as a day of reckoning for both styles of play.

CCP is redefining the role of vehicles away from constant menace to periodic battering rams.
The current role of constant semi-vulnerability but fast repairing has both sides frustrated. AV has a huge reach so vehicles constantly need a decent strength, but that typically isn't enough to sit and slug it out in any encounter.
In the rebalance vehicles will have a low passive survivability combined with a short period of active strength.
Having the two separate modes will allow CCP set two different levels of survivability. They can be vulnerable the majority of the time, having to either hide or be protected by other vehicles or infantry, but periodically be capable of going into domination mode where they can roll in and spearhead the taking of an objective.
That should make them much more interesting without giving us the return of Chromosome tanks. |

Gonna play devil's advocate for a bit here with two points:
1. The armor rep bug is getting fixed with the vehicle rework
2. We have yet to see what CCP is doing to the forge gun |

Honestly from what I have been reading and calculating (son of a math teacher) the tanks will be weaker overall but much stronger when all their cooldowns are up. This will lead to teamwork in tanks one taking point and dealing as much damage as it can before falling back and letting a second take over. Would be very advantageous to have a LLAV on standby to help the tank baking up stay alive. Teams of 3 vs teams of 3. Sounds about balanced to me (you will need around a team of 3 to 4 av to really put a dent into this kind of strat for tanks) |

tanks get screwed over for the last time, almost all the pilots leave the game or respec out of tanks and vehicles all together, thus ending the time dust 514 is dust 514 and introducing call of duty 514. |

Sorry to my fellow shield tankers, that the forge isn't touched.
youll be losing your active reps though lol. you get a nice slow armor repair like heavy suits do, and all the other lack of benefits that implies.
sure swarms wont be shoulder mounted ICBMs anymore but youll be spending alot more down time between fights running and hiding in the redline while you recover your armor |

the armor rep bug isnt being fixed, theyre putting in the infantry armor reps in vehicle form, meaning they rep constantly but slowly. so slowly that youll be nothing but an oversized heavy suit.
ill put it this way... if you like heavy suits or gallente suits... you might like the armor tanks.
if you like caldari suits, youll love the shield tanks. |
