To anyone who is half decent with a kB and mouse, raw input is such an advantage over ds3 users and even aim assist wouldn't mean anything compared to split second reactions. Ccp is ignoring it because they know this.
If you think it would be balanced you must be either crap with a kB and mouse OR have an ulterior motive.
Raw input wouldn't be fair against ds3, ds3 has an advantage over mouse with aim assist (apparently). So if either is bad and kb and mouse can't be fixed after a year then what's the logical option?
Now think about it, no one seems to get it.
A mouse will not turn a scrub into a great player, and there are plenty of scrubs in PC games to prove that point.
From my experience, the top players in this game would have no problem hanging with top level PC gamers, even without aim assist(a few top players even have it turned OFF). There would be a slight edge for the mouse users, but not as much as you think, certainly not enough to intentionally cripple one control scheme, while artificially enhancing another.
The problem with console scrubs as that they have been given digital diapers their whole gaming career, and many never grow out of them because publishers rarely give them the opportunity to wipe their own asses.
Now when faced with real challenges, they cry foul, and instead of putting effort into gun game, they cry for their diapers, and they cry for momma to check under the bed for those mousey monsters.
Over all my impression of console gamers so far is that they simply are not interested in improving their game.
They want to smoke up, sit on the couch, relax, and be rewarded for the minimum of effort.
So ingrained is this culture of minimum effort, that the term "Tryhard" is used as an insult.
You are trying too hard, therefore I will insult you by telling you that you are trying too hard.
I have never heard that insult in all my years of gaming on the PC, ever.
Think about that.
The gap between mousers and DS3 users is largely cultural, and that gap is far larger than the the actual physical advantage that the mouse offers.
All the whining from DS3 users in this thread is just diaper rash, and addressing the whining will change the whole game to fit that culture.
Every controller choice in this game should be maximized to its natural potential. That is the best course of action.
