So someone in the University made an offer (only for Dust University players) for an EVE-Dust exchange, available both ways. His suggestion was a 10 EVEISK - 1 DustISK, but the specific exchange rate is not the purpose of my post. The purpose is that there is someone out there opening up a bank in the game.
I am loving this idea and wondering if there is any market for a 1st Interstellar Bank in the game. Due to the very high demand to get your EVE currency into Dust Currency and if the rate is 10-1, Dust Currency into EVE.
This is just another beautiful example of the innovative player base with these game mechanics coming about. I also hope that CCP recognizes this if it becomes a more imminent banker industry. But damn this is good stuff.
Any Thoughts? |

Didn't know who that was, but the idea is fascinating, and if you actually had a non-junior-high-student run it and recognize the worries and concerns of it, that is just freaking incredible.
I would imagine you would have to be a *massive* grinder in the game for the ISK (in both EVE and Dust) for the start up costs. And the transactions would have to be carefully regulated. Like a max 50 mil exchange for the 5 mil dust at a time. Not to suggest that it would be a one time use, but as in they give you 50 mil EVEISK, you give them 5 mil Dust ISK, then they give you another 50 mil EVEISK, and etc. Now this is getting me interesting in it. |

I am willing to go forth with this myself. I think it can get off, but I will make an alt. account and alt corp for it.
If I did, I would be entirely willing to take in contacts and people to help out, but I would be very shaky with having people actually handle the money. I have plenty of reserves in both sectors of the economy, but obviously I would need to find a few early investors to balance the accounts, naturally, I would compensate them for the opposite account and would consider a dividend. But maybe that is getting ahead of myself.
Knight, I am aware of the comical history of the EVE bank, but that is something that will simply have to deal with as a reputational regulation on the enterprise. This is also an ideal exchange bank atm, not an investment bank or the like. Maybe later would try to buy up different markets like the Aurum or the PLEX market, but for all practical purposes of why this 'bank' would exist, is that it would be to satiate the demand for getting EVE money in Dust and at an exchange rate that would equally make Dusters want to get their Dust money in EVE. |

Kain Spero? Where does he conduct this business?
The ratio should be set by what would be demanded based on the yielded profit. I would consider 100 EVEISK for 1 DustISK but that is comparing *liquid* assets entirely between the 2 domains. There is no demand to get all of your EVE ISK into Dust to create an equal amount of ISK.
The main demand would be from Dust Corporations trying to get their EVE ISK into Dust because they have to fund themselves and PC incursions. The other demand is from newer Dust players wanting the ISK boost from their EVE account, and the final demand is the Proto-Stompers wanting to get the money for their expensive pubstomping tastes.
In terms of the the Dust side going to EVE, I would have to make it an incredibly favorable Dust exchange so they want to give me their Dust ISK for EVE, so I would have to make Pub-match grind in Dust worth more than lv. 4 mission grind in EVE in the exchange rate from them, in short, make Dust worth more in grinding than EVE grinding.
I would simply be the middle man that in reality, organized the transfer of all these players, just at different variables of time
and of course making a cozy profit from it too from the service fee :)
