Hi all!
Adding a grid reference to the battle map would be nice for spotters to call in an orbital strike via their Sq leader. |

Yes, been asking for this for a LONG time. We use the grid system to give feedback on maps so someone has already taken time to set it up. Let's just put it into the game. |

(Sorry for wall of text, but that's a direct quote from the old thread, haven't changed it one bit. Just wanted to show you how long we've been asking for this for.)
Modern me rewriting the points:
- give us a grid on the tacnet map
- tell us our grid location somewhere on the hud so we can panic call for help "O GAWD 4 HEAVIES AND A TANK AT B2, SOMEONE HALP!!"
You can look at Heroes & Generals for how they did it. I've saved objectives before when I spotted a squad swimming across the river to our side and called it out in chat (using the grid location so my team knew where to look and didn't have to waste time searching). Immediately 3 snipers got on em and 2 infantry went to intercept any survivors hiding in the forest on our side of the river.
Or another time when I spotted a tank and gave a call out for our bombers, within 30 seconds that tank was gone. Or when I noticed one sneaky enemy behind our lines: Went on chat, gave the grid location, 5 infantry performed a manhunt for him through the woods starting in the grid square I spotted him in, got him without any casualties on our side.
And all that happened with randoms and no voice chat. |
