The following is some blurb I communicated with my clan. What I'm wondering is if someone here could tell me about their experience fitting the 4 equipment slots of their Gallenti Logi pro. I've got about 9mil sp into dropsuit upgrades and the assault rifle, with only mins required in Dropsuit command for the Caldari logi. I'm especially interested with experience of loading aur proto setup's into adv level skills.
Any help greatly appreciated!
Following is some fairly detailed analysis of logi suits.
Once upon a time (early 1.3 era), the Caldari Logi Shield Tank was the flavor of the month (and I jumped on the band wagon). Problem is, the darn thing is under powered on cpu. In trying to fit a couple of GÇ£tuxedosGÇ¥, I ran out of cpu and pg trying to fill all available slots.
Just listing the Prototype numbers, check this out (cpu, pg, shield, armor, bonus) GÇô note all of these have an armor repair of 1hp bonus in addition to the race specialty bonus noted below:
Amarr 390, 72, 120, 180, armor repair Caldari 350, 78, 180, 90, shield regulators Gallenti 390, 78, 90, 180, equipment pg/cpu Minmatar 390, 78 , 90, 150, hacking
Just looking at the above values, I would be tempted to abandon the Caldari in favor of the Amarr. I have no experience with an GÇ£armor tankGÇ¥ and would be very interested to see how this reacts in battle verses my GÇ£shield tankGÇ¥.
So what are the other differentiators? All of these are identical in the following attributes: Shield Recharge Delay (6s), Armor Repair Rate (1HP/s), Scan Profile (50dB), Scan Precision (50dB), Scan Radius (10m), Melee Damage (110HP).
The AmarrGÇÖs Shield Depleted Recharge Delay is 1 second sooner (7s verses 8s) than the other three (thus better).
The remaining attributes are speed/stamina related (Movement Speed m/s, Sprint Speed m/s, Sprint Duration s, Stamina, Stamina Recovery Rate /s)
Amarr 4.5, 6.4, 14.0, 140, 15 Caldari 4.7, 6.6, 11.5, 115, 12 Gallenti 4.7, 6.6, 11.5, 115, 12 Minmatar 5.0, 7.0, 12.0, 120, 12
Summary Amarr shield and armor tank, slow as a slug Caldari shield tank gets around ok Gallenti armor tank gets around ok Minmatar weak armor tank faster middle weight in town
To help my Caldari, I must seek cpu increases. Besides using cpu module enhancers (eating low power slots), one has these choices; Max Dropsuit Core Upgrades (1% per level) and Dropsuit Electronics skills (5% per level). IGÇÖve currently at level 4 and 3 respectively here, thus I need 1,523,520 sp for another 11% gain (which does not touch my needs, cpu module enhancers still required)
I see an advanced Amarr Logistics skill set in my near future (aur GÇÿNeoGÇÖ Logistics ak.0 proto that is), gonna cost me 273600 SP to check this out GÇô my next sp goal! Might make it for the squad cup.
Edited to note - some big differences in these suits on fitting slots however. Dang 4 equipments slots would sure be nice, I'd love to run with a rep, scan, nano and uplink as well as have a rep, injector, nano and uplink fitting ... hmmm, anyway check out the slots on these proto bad boys:
Amarr small nade - 1, hp - 3, eq - 3, lp - 4, sidearm -1, light weapon - 1 Caldari med nade - 1, hp - 5, eq - 3, lp - 4, light weapon - 1 Gallenti small nade - 1, hp - 3, eq - 4, lp - 5, light weapon - 1 Minmatar small nade - 1, hp - 4, eq - 4, lp - 4, light weapon - 1 |

Justin Tymes wrote:I do. 4 slots is better than 3, and in the early stages of your SP gain, the CPU/PG boosts matters. However I have about 14 mill right now, and I'm regretting not going Minmitar because of the versatility the suit has. You can be fast as an Assault, you have both tanking options(Armor tanking isn't weak, you get 4 low slots), 4 EQ slots, with a VERY relevant passive ability in-game.
Gallente Proto is decent(the standard and advanced suits are garbage and outclassed), and you will have the ability to use 1 more proto EQ instead of ADV. That Proto EQ better be Triage Hives, or you need to be looking at another suit. You will also have to accept the fact that you will be OHK'd by ADV Lotus nades alot of times, and Core Lotus all the time, and you will not be able to dodge because of the movement penalty.
Very interesting observation ... the hacking bonus, going along with the theme of the min's better agility is also interesting ...
A couple of you have mentioned the "ya better have a Triage Hives", please explain this statement further. |

My Amarr logi (Ak. 0) is my "assault logi" carrying a carthum AScR, Core flaylock, Adv nanohives, adv. triage repair tool, and adv injector. It does a decent job slaying while providing support as well.
My Gallente logi (Gk. 0) is my "support logi" carrying a freedom MD, adv nanohives, adv, triage repper, adv injector, and adv, scanner
I tend to run the gallente when I am with a squad of corpmates and amarr when solo or with just a person or two or when squaded with people I don't know and can't count on.
So to answer your question gallente is best for carrying a lot of equipment and amarr is a little better for slaying, for me at least.
Might I ask about your high and low power slots on you're gk.0? are you struggling with cpu and/or pg? |

I'm sorry you are displeased with your choice of the Caldari Logistics. Caldari and the Amarr are more suited to the battle than the other 2 races (they are the solo logis), though the nerf to the Cal logi and the change to its bonuses was... unfortunate, but could be argued that it was appropriate. It is a great suit for running around and jumping in and out of battle. It has the possibility for many setups due to its high and low slot module fitting but the limited CPU is frustrating. This suit received the most attention due to the BumbleBee fiasco that came with the first Uprising Update. That a shield centric race would have the lowest CPU is beyond me.
I appreciate your words here. I'm not actually displeased with my Caldari, as I am a bit of a solo logi, and with my ar built up pretty well, tend to hold my own on the boards. I just recently tried AUR-proto'ing my strong core skilled adv logi, and was just a bit surprised at all the darn slots and needing to load two of the lows with cpu enhancers to proto load the others.
This caused me to drop back and do some more analysis and hence these questions, and the great answers so far ... (thanks one and all). Ah the beauty of the micro-transaction, if one can afford them, to be able to skill to adv., but check out the experience of proto to see if that is where one wants to go.
