This is from a Logi player who was here before chromosome.
Logis can do almost anything, and do it well. Sometimes better than the suit that is supposed to do that role. On the other side of the spectrum we have commandos. They sounde amazing, a game changer. But that isn't what happened. Two light weapons are super fun, but the suit is lacking. The suit is too slow to really get the best out of your setup.
So, my proposal is simple, and fixes many issues related to suits and roles. Switch Logi with commando on the skill tree.
Now logis won't need so many high/low slots since they will have a larger base hp. Still only one weapon though, to push the idea of support. Slightly faster than heavies, but not as close to assault like it is now.
Now onto commandos. They of course keep their dual light weapons, but lose their equipment slot. In turn they get a grenade instead. Reasoning being, they will NEED team support. Ideally from an accompanying assault player or Logi. Commandos would be a bit slower than assaults, to better seperate the two roles. Assault class remains the go to class for frontal engagement, with commandos providing support with versitile gunplay.
Logis would hold equipment in the heavy class, while sentinels would not. While assaults would have equipment, the commandos wouldn't. Those who want to be slayers, would go either assault or commando. Those who want to take a more defensive role, sentinel or logistics.
TL:DR; Switch commando frame size with logis frame size. Keep what makes that role speacil, and balance it out. No more assault Logi nonsense, and commandos move up to the other suits/roles. |

I disagree with your thoughts on the commando. With its slow movement speed and slow turn radius it isn't ideal for cqc. Its more a dmr platform. It needs to be self sufficent. This requires an equipment slot for ammo\repping hive. |

No thanks. I agree if you want to remove slots in exchange for higher base HP but there is not need to do a frame size swap. All of those changes can be implemented via stats changes. Nice try though. |

The only problem I can think is they would have to low ehp. They would need a extra high or low slot at STD and a extra high and low slot at ADV and PRO. |

Bad Idea Simply. 2 Light weapon AND grenade ? Nope.
To logi (I'me a Logi). All Equipement slot should be fitted. ALL. You don't want to use equipement then you get the f*ck up. You don't have the choice to be a beast or a Logi. Logi suit is Logi. So you take +¬quipement. You play as a real Logi take Minimatarr or Gallente. You want (like me) a support role and fire support then Amarr or Caldari. (Only 3 slot at Proto level).
But you MUST fit them. It's not "I'm gonna enjoy all these slot and PG/CPU." There's lot of CPU/PG BECAUSE equipement takes a lot of them. If you don't use them you don't have the right to use PG/CPU intended to them. No concession or half concession it's like that and that's all. There's a lot of Module slot to balance against the lack of CPU/PG for the module when you have finished to fit your equipements. So there's a lot of slot BUT they are here to take Advanced or basic mods not a full rack of complex mods.
For the commando it's pretty simple. Having 2 weapon and a big ehp pool is great. On paper. The speed i found it great. The commando is at the good speed. BUT at maximum he have 624ehp. It's huge for an base. But he don't have enough slot te be good. But if he have more slot then it's broken. So that's an evidence. He need more Ehp OF BASE. At least 800. Because afterall he will not going to have better because his slot can't do it. Logi begins at 200-300 Hp but potentially can have 1100ehp. Commando begins at 500 but he can't have much more..... The racial bonus should'nt be 2% for Armor plates/shield. It should be 2% of damage on Light weapon.
To make the Commando an Weapon Expert. Having 2 weapons deal with it very great. But not really fast don't have grenades and less pG/CPU. If you see what i mean. |

Same here. Once I stopped and thought about it, it's pretty damn neat.
I do agree that it's an enormous mental shift, and would leave a lot of players scratching their heads. But you could basically ask...
1) If you're a current Slayer Logi:
How would you feel about losing your equipment slots for a second Light Weapon slot?
2) If you're a current LogiBro:
How would you feel about losing a bit of speed, but getting quite a bit tankier to do your job without dying on the spot?
3) If you're a current Commando:
How would feel about having a medium frame, and trade that equipment slot for more his/lows/grenade slot?
I can't think of anyone who'd outright reject any of those situations. IT MAKES TOO MUCH SENSE |

New stats for Ammar Commando:
Shield - 320 HP Armor - 320 HP Shield Recharge Rate - 17.0 HP/s CPU/PG is slightly increased Ammar Commando Bonus - 5% to efficacy of Shield/Armor Modules per level
That will be all. |

Even with all three slots filled my ADV gal logi can fit prototype weapon and be a better slayer then an Assault of the same level. Even better because I have a scanner, a nano and uplinks so I can get extra support. |

This assumption that you can't assault without sacrificing equipment is a fallacy. I do it all the time. Proto weapon, at least three proto equipments with complex and advanced modules jammed in there. I lose a possible 15~20% percent of possible health versus an assault, but I get 3-4 equipment and similar speed. The other options to balance logis just take things away, without giving anything in return, i.e. taking high/low slots; CPU/pg; light weapon slot. Also the idea to force equipment use somehow. |

Straight to the heart of it. Imagine a Logi being able to shield your body during a revive, without either of you dieing in the process. A commando could do all the things it does now, but be more effective. The only draw back would be the same as a forge gunner, no nanohives. And we all know the lack of equipment doesn't stop FG sniping. |

I counter good sir with.... Logistic Light Attack Vehicle. A heavy frame Logi would need transportation, like most heavies do. Plus, a Logi could run a mCRU to really support his team! |

Love the idea and as a logibro I fully endorse the 'heavy logi'. I can see myself with prototype triage hives, prototype repair tool and injector, tanking the DPS for my team, dishing out a little of my own, but my slow speed will force me to stick with me team, 'cause running off on my own is a problem I've had for a while.
However, one qualm: as a hoarder who plays MMORPGs gathering items and not throwing any away, playing CoD with Scavenger as my favourite perk, playing DUST a feeling empty without nanohives, I say add this variant, and add the assault commando variant, without removing the other two. See whether anything become redundant, then remove them or change them to make them more viable. (reimbursing SP as necessary)
I mean, variants are important, right? I'm sure there are ships in EVE that only a few people use, if only to be unique. |

Quite true but then you become a sitting duck in that lovely open top cruiser, especially when you have to drive at walking speed! The logi works best on the medium suit it allows it the versatility required to run with a squad across multiple terrains! It allows getting to downed units faster, and still packs enough punch!
Not saying we couldn't have a heavy logi, as well! |

Why would you drive at walking speed? For your squad? Wouldn't they just ride along. The versatility of the Logi suit is the problem. It can do to much as medium suit. |

Or is it the medium suit that is the problem, why should a logi be rellegated to defensive purposes, maybe its because we are using assaults as a yard stick when they aren't? |

It shouldn't be forced into a defensive position, but with its speed(medium suit) AND versatility(Logi class) its too much. I play as a Logi, from the start. I am suggesting taking away MY own ability to slay so effectively, in favor of a better game. |

A sitting duck to what? Even opening the hitbox on LAV drivers pretty much leaves them vulnerable to the same four prolems for them as before the change (Railguns, Blasters, Forge Guns and occasional snipers.) Any driver paying attention can see them on the mini-map and usually have one errant shot before they have to vacate. Also, probably a good chunk of people I see driving Logi LAVs are heavies; it's the simplest way for them to get around 1000m maps quickly. Plus they soak ridiculous amounts of damage (I.E. dumb red berries who think an SMG can kill a driver by shooting him but waste clips shooting the turret.) I've seen a couple lucky AVs and Swarm Launchers do the trick, but it isn't reliable.
BTW: A good question occurred to me for anyone who complains that a Logi would cripple the team by being slower: where else should your medic class be? I understand that a Logi should be able to defend themselves but to be able to outrun assault suits while having more slots leaves much to be desired for your tactical attack classes... like Assault and "Commando" suits. Commando indicates that they'd be a shock trooper type of dropsuit, giving you the ability to wreak havoc with a run and gun play style. But simply, running at the speed of a beached whale isn't conducive to wanting to spend SP on it. Especially since it'll cost you over 2m SP to run one that actually has slots; meaning the bonus is wasted on STD and even ADV Commandos.
Oh and guns have nothing on Orbitals. Just saying. |

That's how i feel. People keep regurgitating; only side arms, cut slots, lock out damage mods, cut CPU/pg. None of it willl work.
Side note, played with black eagle scout. Yep, if that was a medium suit it would be AMAZING. It would be what I suggest as the commando suit. Grenade and no equipment, makes you deadly but vulnerable without support. |

It's not just the Logi suits, its the commandos also. Commandos should be aggressive, which is hard being in a heavy frame. |
