Was just playing a game when I saw someone using the plasma launcher. I like the bright flash but it looks weird to me?
Why is it bright yellow? And why does it roar?
I though plasma fire was more of a blueish green color. Also the sound doesnt really sound right to me. The other plasma weapons (AR and shotty) dont sound anything like it. This sounds like a rocket or something
Has anyone else thought of this? Its not all that important but was just wondering if anyone else agrees with me |

The sun is (mostly) plasma, and it is yellowish reddish (for now). And the sound has to do with the size and speed of the projectile. I don't know if you have ever waved a large flaming object through the air, but it makes a roaring like sound. |

Yeah, I've had a couple close calls, usually a shot streaking over my head when the user over-compensated for the drop. I think in part it's meant to be a flashy weapon, psychological warfare and whatnot. |

The colour of plasma is all to do with the temperature of the plasma itself. As it gets hotter it changes colour. It goes from red at about 1000-¦ Kelvin (K) and slowly fades to orange at about 1700-¦K, and to yellow around 3000-¦K, then white at about 6000-¦K and blue at around 10000-¦K and more.
Also, plasma makes that noise when it's whooshed around. Fire is lower energy plasma and it makes that roaring noise when moved. |
