When it asked me what games I was currently playing, I listed EVE Online because it was playing in the background on my work computer, but not Dust since I can't play it at work. Apparently that ended the survey. |

Up until the point they unceremoniously ended the survey (unless that was supposed to be the last question), they just asked questions about how much money I spend on games, consoles I play, and general marketing BS. They didn't ask a damn thing about the issues with Dust, so it's just a big "how do we squeeze more money out of you" circlejerk market research survey as far as I'm concerned.
Rather than thank them, I'd like to tell them to go copulate with themselves for the waste of time that had no bearing on my experiences, only on their profits. |

Maybe if you had answered the question correctly, you would have seen the Dust specific questions. Just a thought, but it's hard to blame CCP for a user error on your part.
I answered it correctly. I wasn't currently playing Dust. I'm getting the impression everyone else was lying about whether or not they were currently playing the game, unless they were afk in Merc quarters.
It's not my fault if they can't word a question right. |

It's not my fault if they can't word a question right. Please leave my thread. You are clearly trolling. If you aren't, well I'm not going to say what I think of your intelligence in this matter.
You're missing the larger picture.
How many people have become frustrated with this game and quit playing? It could be over core mechanics, lack of content, speed of updates, or whatever. The AA/hit-detection changes in 1.4 definitely caused some serious attrition. It made people that have played since before launch quit. That's not the only reason people have stopped playing either.
This represents a huge chunk of people with intimate familiarity with Dust and more hours logged with comparative experience of the various iterations than most. These people may have quit a month ago, they may have quit a couple of weeks ago. Do you thinks days worth of real-time experience on 1.5/1.4 is irrelevant now?
What message do you think someone that decided to stop playing Dust a week ago (but still cared enough to open a survey) would indicate when asked if he/she "currently played Dust"? If they're even remotely honest, they'd say "no" - because a survey is your chance to indicate WHY you stopped playing and the issues you have. Instead, they'd be ejected after perfunctory market research questions - insult to injury basically.
So, we have a survey that was generated and sent to players designed to only be completable by people masochistic enough to continue to play the game in its current state. This is what we'd call a skewed sample.
They've done us no favors, and their data will be crap just as their sampling methods, question wording, and so on was. YOU have the gall to thank them for perpetrating this farce. Masochists indeed. |
