just tossing around an Idea in my head. wanted some feedback before I sent it to [requests]

so in my head the scout is an infiltrator. they are light, fast, and stealthy. we are not carrying around a super computer and we aren't hackers. they are able to deal with small pockets(1 or 2 enemies) of resistance but aren't frontline fighters. they get behind enemy lines and perform disruptive actions.

The blops uplink wouldn't be exclusive to scouts but scout suits would reduce it's cpu/pg cost. while the uplink wouldn't be exclusive to scouts using it on other suits would dig into their tank (it would take a lot of cpu/pg).

 what is it?

blops uplink is a rapid deployment solution for putting mercs behind enemy lines. it has a tiny scan signature perhaps only picked up by line of sight. and very fast spawn times.

 STD: 5 sec spawn timer
 ADV: 3 sec spawn timer
 CPX: 1 sec spawn timer

 thoughts, ideas, critiques?

I'd rather it be one with a 10 second spawn that couldn't be scanned down

It should either have insanely fast spawn in timer or be invisible to scanners, but not both at the same time. Adding both on their own however would be cool. And in order to balance either of them, they would have to have a severely reduced max spawns per unit.

I had kind of the same idea (blops uplink that is), but my idea was that it was silent and unscannable with low spawn count (say 5-10 or so). I like your idea, but make it have low spawn count (like 5 to summon your squad or something).

I think uplinks in general need to have fewer spawns and they need to self distruct if placed too close to one another regardless of owner

Make the "Black Ops Uplink" a variant.

And have the "Hacked Drop Uplink" (which is invisible to hostile TACNET systems) an ISK variant

But they need to have something like higher CPU?PG fitting requirements, less spawns per unit and/or you can only carry one to keep them balanced with normal drop uplinks.

higher cpu/pg is addressed in the op, scouts suits would have a bonus reducing the requirements but compared to other uplinks the requirements would be high, and though nonscouts could use them it would take some of their tank away to do so.

Suggestions for "tactical" equipment that has a reduced scan profile have already been given in the feedback section.

That's 2 spawns each for your whole squad. Too many if it's unscannable.

Mmmm, the reason I layed it out like that is that while not being scout specific it is meant for scouts. this wouldn't be your go to uplink, putting it on a normal suit would have unwanted repercussions. being a specialized peice of equipment for scouts would sort of balance it's overall OPness. am I wrong in that thought?(genuinely curious)

I had the same idea. A covert uplink that only you and your squad can use.

I would like to see an uplink jammer that prevents mercs from spawning in on anything but black ops links. Make it so Proto scouts can use them but no one else can. Limit 6 spawns @ 5 seconds and they can only be scanned by proto scanners.
