As a witless technofobe signing into yet another website is indeed a strain on my brain. I suppose this stuff is very easy for "the kids of our age" but for an old man like me, its pure hell.
So I go to the designated site and register myself, KingBabar, and so far soo good. Then I proceed to "Signups" it says:
Team ID missing.
In order to register for this league, you must first register a team that your team mates then have to join. When the team has become large enough, you can register your team for this league.
OK so I go to "Team" and "8on8 (LOL) squad cup EU", I then press the first link named: "Annaouncing the squad cup", which puts me through and it says "EU signups - signup now" - only to be put back to the above mentioned "Team ID missing".
Can someone please tell me what I'm supposed to do?
Is it possible to sign up in some other less complicated way? Can I simply send an email to someone or something?

You are now enlightened.
That depends on the hamburger, and indeed the car.
If your statement was correct, it would still be totally useles. Thank you and good bye. |

I have tried all sorts off things, I didn't exactly find a "team sign up here" bar or anythuing like that.
Will this mean that I first have to sign up a team (God knows where) and then the 9 other dudes on my team have to get onto that site, register themselves and then register their place in the team and then I have to sign us all up after that?
And this all within 2 days from now? So if my dudes aren't online and don't receive my message in time we can't join the tourney?
Its all too complicated and certainly very confusing.
Can a DEV get in here and clear things up for me? |

- Did not find where to sign up the team. - Getting the 9 other dudes to register in 2 days might be impossible. - So they have to go on twice? First to register and then to accept?
Why so damned complicated????
This might lead us to not play in this tournament, I don't see how its possible to get all this done in 2 days, seing that most dudes aren't on every single day...
And on top of all I have to get a skype account aswell?
Why do I have to sign up on 2 different sites just to partake in a Dust tournament? |

Once you've set up a team, send the other guys a link to the team page and they can click to join it. Once they've all joined the team and entered their DUST character names, then you can sign up.
If you've still having trouble, put in a ticket on the ESL website and they'll help you out.
On a side note, we are considering extending the signup period for those people that have had difficulty in signing their team up. If that's the case, we'll announce that tomorrow.
I actually found the "team" bar and has made a team.
And you PC guys need to realise that this is a console game. How am I supposed to send the link to my team mates? I can do it by typing it all in and send it via a corp mail. But this is not a good lasting sollution, there is no copy/paste function going from my laptop to my PS3... |

We are having real problems because It is really difficult. Console players are not used to these difficult things, we start the game and we pew pew I know 10 years old kids that can design their own websites ...just saying.....Being a Console gamer doesn't makes you a moron ... right ? Because if it does, i think i going to stop using it.
Its not about being a moron, its about not being used to handle anything more complicated than Nettflix or the Dust fourms. I don't have a private email, no facebook, no twitter, I'd rather stick with gaming and I try to avoid PCs as much as possible.
This "ESL" site is filled up with so much clutter and commercials it is straining my eyes to even look at it. Why do we need this complicated format for signups?

Yeah, I'm "that guy" that always bugs my friends with all kinds of PC related problems.
I do very well with the accounting programme at work. I can manage basic email stuff. I can even manage my bank account on the net.... And thats about it.... I'm a scrub.
Guess I'm born 50 years too late.... |

Tech De Ra wrote:Bendtner92 wrote: It would be much easier for one guy to just send in their team roster to CCP (or some thirdparty organiser, if that's the case), or in the case of a corp/alliance tourney in the future to just sign their corp/alliance up. That could even be done via an ingame mail to a certain (CCP) character. As this isnt a corp/alliance based cup, I made it so the participating members had the sign up For corp/alliance tournaments I will have it so only the CEO/director has to create a team and all corp members are instantly eligible to play the matches
Why can't I sign my roster up at that site? Why do we need to go through all this?
If every member were online every single day, sure no problem, but what if I have members that knows about the cup, have signed up for it internally, but they don't log on for a week making them and perhaps the entire team missing the cup?
It just seems to me that its complicated just for the sole role of being complicated.
But then again, I don't know much about this sort of thing... |
