I noticed that sometimes the timer doesn't deactivate after you exit the redzone. Also sometimes the redzone kills you early before the timer has counted down to zero.
I went into the redzone to destroy installations that were auto targeting my ADS (Hopefully you all can't begrudge me that ?? ) The timer told me I had 5 seconds to exit but it decided to destroy me and my 810,000 isk dropship early - I'm not complaining, I consider myself a good merc and have plenty of DS's on standby and isk in my wallet but a less selfless merc would be rageing |

It's because you're in a vehicle.
There's an invisible vehicle timer that it doesn't show you, and that activates the second the tip of the vehicle enters the redline. If your physical clone is not inside the redline, you won't actually see a timer.
Always make sure that before you enter the redline, you are well away from the redline to reset any invisible vehicle timers you might have. When you're ready, head straight into it perpendicular to the actual line itself so that there is only half a second difference between the vehicle timer and your clone timer. Heading at an angle can mean your vehicle might be inside of the redline without you knowing it.
Another thing is that as a pilot there is technically two redlines for you. The first is the clone redline. When you're in the air you get an extended flight area outside of the map that is safe for you to be in, but jumping out will immediately start a timer for your clone. The other one is the airspace redline, which prevents you from just flying too far away from the map.
Sometimes it glitches the clone redline when you get near the airspace redline, but under normal circumstances it should revert you back to accurate information within a few seconds.
Either way, don't wait until the last second to fly out, always give yourself more time than you need. |

Than you, I'm aware of the arial redline difference, and as I said I had plenty of time to escape (or so I thought, this isn't my first outing in a DS ) I'm also referring to the infantry redline timer not cancelling when they're back in the engagement zone. Its been experience quite a lot by my corpmates. No confirmation if its lethal if the timer doesn't cancel but it is still a worrying having a timer over your head when your nowhere near it, lol. |
