It does not happen often, though occasionally I will shoot a guy dead with my Scrambler Rifle and he will shoot me dead with his weapon, at the same time! This proves that certain weapons have travel time. The only weapons (asides obvious ones like Mass Driver and Plasma Cannon) that I have noticed this with are:
-The Forge Gun - very noticeable when shooting at fast dropships
-Scrambler Pistol- you can actually step side ways and see the beam travel!
-A charged bolt from a Scrambler Rifle- seems that charged shots have longer travel time than non-charged/low-charge shots.
So my question is a simple one. Why does a plasma bolt travel faster than light!? For that matter, why do bullets(SMG, HMG) and rail gun flechettes go faster than BEAMS OF FREAKIN' LIGHT!?
Where is the logic? |

You're probably talking about server lag. As far as I have seen, ScR doesnt have bullet travel but the animation where you see the laser line leading up to the target certainly gives the illusion of it since it doesnt disappear immediately but lingers after the shot has been made. AR also has lag, there have been many times where I would shoot a guy and run out of bullets only to watch him fall shortly after. Server has been pretty laggy lately. |

If I had to guess, it could be due to the animation being a lot more complex, the Scrambler Rifle's I mean. Could also explain why charged shots have more 'travel time's, since the more you charge the more intricate the animation. |

I had something similar happen a month or so ago. I was in a skirmish and I was rounding a corner. Saw Lionturtles with his Duvolle against me and my Imperial. We engaged and had a hell of a fight. We killed each other. I was sure I got him first and he probably thought the same. Either way, it was the single most epic 1v1 I have ever had in Dust. Both in proto suits with proto weapons. Additionally, we only died once each, with each other being the single death. Game ended seconds later.
Good times.
A little off topic, but yes I have experienced it as well. |

It's ironic that lasers have more recoil (or any recoil at all) and travel time than a plasma launching weapon... |

Yeah i meant to send you a good game too lol On my screen it showed i killed you first then all of a sudden i just died.
We both had red dots around us too, yet it still seemed like it was just you and me on the battlefield!
I was suprised how long it took us to kill eachother lol Good Times. |

It will forever be remembered as "The Dance of Death". Lol.
It DID seem like it was only us two at the end. I remember killing 2 by the time I rounded the corner and saw you. I know you killed a few too because reds were exchanging with you and the kill feed was lighting up. I think Timbo was there too.
It seemed like it lasted a minute but in reality, it only lasted about 8 seconds. Lol. Good times indeed! |

It might have to do with the slight charge up delaying the shots for the scrambler rifle. It shoots when you let go of the trigger not when pressed so it might shoot out even after you die. |
