Assault Ak. 0 and Prof. 5 in ScR here! I switched from Amarr logi to assault with 1.8 respec. Anyone else also enjoying the MagSec with ScR combo?
Most tankers are like sand people. They frighten easily, but will quickly return...and in greater numbers.

Good on ya for donning the best assault suit in the game since Uprising 1.0 :D I planned to use the MagSec but found that I didn't like it as much as the Minnie Submachine Gun, the Ishukone Assault SMG is IMO superior in every way so I decided to put my SP elsewhere and keep the same combo I've had for months now ScR + SMG (Used to be ScP but the pistol was really unreliable in PC) But I'm interested to hear your opinion as to why you like the MagSec
Assault SMG is overall better, but I've run Min assault with SMG on my alt since Uprising so I didn't want to use it on my main too. In theory I figured the range on the MagSec and the 90/110 damage profile would compliment the ScR well and I would drop shields with the ScR on then switch to MagSec to finish off the armor. In practice it usually works out that I just use the ScR to kill my target unless I'm close to overheating or they've gotten in close to me and I want to spray and pray.
I'd also taken to using the Assault RR on my Gal logi fits since I figured the assault ScR wouldn't work so well with prof. changes in 1.8 so MagSec has kind of come naturally as it is pretty much just a chopped down ARR.
Oh and I had to go Amarr assault because I needed a break from Min assault hard mode that I've run for months and with the equipment changes Amarr logi no longer fit what I used it for a hybrid assault/repping and reviving logi

But that recoil on the MagSec is really nasty, and with skills not applying would probably **** me off even more. Care to share your ak.0 fit? I'm interested to see how you fit yours
3 complex shield extenders 1 complex armor rep 2 enhanced armor plates
Viziam ScR Proto MagSec (must be Kaalikiota I assume) M1 locus grenade
Nanohive (maybe K-2 I can't remember)
I also have a less used fit which is the same except with 2 complex plates, a carthum AScR and core flaylock
What are you rolling with LT?
Oh as a secondary bonus using the Cal tech over the Minmatar is more in line with "RP" but obviously that is secondary to me as I'll put a flaylock of all things on an Ak. 0

Viziam Scrambler Rifle Ishukone Assault SMG M1 Locus Grenade (I can just melee equipment now so no need for flux really ^_^)
Complex Light Damage Mod Complex Light Damage Mod Complex Sidearm Damage Mod
Enhanced Armor Plate Enhanced Armor Plate Complex Armor Repairer
Viziam Flux Drop Uplink (K-2 for Pubs)
I quoted this from a few pages back but this is basically my fit for 1.8 which interestingly enough hasn't changed much from 1.7. This is my PC fit but for pubs I would likely switch out the sidearm damage mod for an ext or the odd precision mod and maybe play around with the low slots. I've tried a fit with a Complex Reactive plate, Enhanced Armor Plate and a Complex Armor Repairer that I like very much but most of my fits are pretty simple Always remember (Hadah 4:20); Dual Tanking is a SinAnd please, call me Tib Or... *looks at sig*
Everyone always tells me (especially pre-1.8) "run damage mods" but I run tank because of: old support logi habits, I have crap aim & reflexes, and I have some mental block that always makes me go defense when playing any sort of RPGesque game ever. I blame it on growing up a Chicago Bears fan
