Make them harder to fly, not imposible, but make it so that not anybody can just fly a dropship and get to a building themself, so they actually need sombody else to fly them, like tanks, you have to have alot of skill to drive a tank 3. Make a dropship much more sturdy, higher HP because of higher cost, essentially you are paying for better materials for the ship to be made of. 4. Give us medium turrets sometime in the future for assault dropships 5. Make the skill effects different, that are actually more helpful, not saying the current ones are horrible, but they could be much better. 6. allow us to unequip our side turrets, they just eat up much needed pg/cpu or else give us some extra pg/cpu specially for those side turrets that get us into trouble 7. Give us some counter measures
I think that this would make dropships a very special threat, much like tanks, a noob tanker in a MLT tank will do almost nothing and get blown up very quickly, but an expeirienced one will stay alive, and wreak havoc.
I want dropships to be a special threat, they will be very important and a much needed asset to a team, and a noob piloting a MLT will most likely crash a couple times (oh yeah, make MLT derpships a bit cheaper so they can litterally be practice dummies) . Then pilots will utilize a very fixed, very key asset to the game, but only if they have spent the neccesary time and money to train into it, then once you get the higher tier dropships you will be much harder to kill, not a flying tank by any means but a force to be reconed with.
WHO'S WITH ME!!!
1. That's a tough one. I'd say make the hulls cheaper but the modules more expensive; the modules are where all the fancy tech. comes in and that should be where the expense is. For example, turret prices. They're ridiculous. If we increased the price of hardeners too, then top-tier dropships will be really expensive but people can still afford hulls to practice.
2. I was thinking about this. How could they make it harder to fly? Dropship mechanics I think are fine where they are; as different aerial vehicles/different dropship variants come out, they could implement different mechanics for those so the real challenge is mastering all of them.
However, maybe if you release the thrusters, your dropship immediately begins descending instead of gliding? The the downward thruster button could be used for something else, maybe a hotkey for afterburners. May make it more difficult to perform backflips and barrel rolls, but I never use those unless I'm in a dogfight I know I can't win.
3. Connected to point 1. Leave hulls as they are (and perhaps make them cheaper), but make modules stronger and more effective. And more module variants, CCP, please! I want hardeners that have longer durations with less resistance, high resistance for a few seconds, etc.
4. I see no problem with this.
5. Whilst I hope pilot suits will serve the function of providing passive bonuses, I agree that some vehicle upgrade skills could be lookde at.
6. This is going to happen when begin the first phase of the vehicle rebalance, probably 1.6/1.7
7. Yes please!
