gunnlogi are good vs infantry because they have natural resists to current infantry av, but you end up gimping you tank if you try to use it fight infrantry because blasters eat too much PG and the boosters and sensors required for fighting infantry reduce shield effectiveness.
maddrugars are weak against current infantry av but can survive better because they can fit boosters, sensors, and their full tank without compromising on anything.
when fitting a tank you need: speed and defense/tank to survive. sensors help with offense and defense. lastly dont use over sized guns. just use standard turrets and youll be fine. also keeps the cost down. |

That doesn't make any sense.
its rock, paper, scissors for tanks currently. factoring natural resists and weapon strengths, those tank and turret combos are superior stats wise in those particular instances. |

Oh ok, so which tank do you think would be the best overall? I've tried the maddrugar, but it is like literally every match I get in someone has a proto swarm... it is so ******* annoying. But when I play with my caldari logi LAV on a different account no one can kill me, so I was thinking of just unlocking the gunnlogi since I have so many points invested in shield stuff already for the logi LAV
like in eve... there is no best overall. only the best choice in a particular situation. after that, player skill and experience takes over to determine the winner.
my examples in the hands of a decent tanker will give them a serious edge in combat. skilled and experienced tankers will be seemingly unkillable. ive killed multiple maddrugars at the same time simply by bringing the correct tank for the job.
shields would be better against swarms and av grenades for sure, but gunnlogis have a problem in that they have to give up their shield tanking to improve their speed (with boosters), or combat awareness (with sensors).
i find that most guys tank hunting will creep up on you in congested areas where the lack of sensors keeps you from responding to them until theyre are practically on top of you. add the lack of speed given by boosters means you wont be able to gtfo like youll need to especially if you get ambushed. but if you drop your shield tanking to fit sensors or boosters, then youll die anyways because av is so powerful that itll brute force through your shields before you can get out of range of them.
i use maddrugar blaster against infantry and ill switch it out for a different one if the enemy drops a tank into the match.
railguns will get you killed unless you redline snipe |
