And you would imagine that people would be using weapons built into their own body, transformable at will, rather than the concepts that we see at the moment, that are similar to modern-day weapons |

We as a people also suffered from a huge technological darkage after the eve gate collapsed, it took hundreds of years for us to reach the stars again. If you know anything about Terran technology they actually have weapons like that (earth weapons are far more powerful than anything in the eve universe) and even the Jove have started to tinker with weapons like this. |

It's already 1000-2000 since the rediscovery. Given how fast weapons changed from spears to guns (~800 years) , should't there now be somewhat more exotic weapons? The shotgun is the one exception to this. It looks like it's built right into the arm, and also has the sic-fi feel |

well the HMG dose look pretty primitive, so dose the mass driver... but minmatar tech is kinda suposed to look that way I guess. I do love the Scrambler rifle, and the look of the shot gun. |

you dont even need to get into the lore. its a simple answer. while the game may be based thousands of years into the future, its still made by ccp, a company that as far a dust is concerned atm, is a far from reaching the stars as possible.
still gotta love this piece of sh*t game though. been playing since beta and dont plan on quitting any time soon. |

I don't know about built in weapons, but all the clones and most soldiers are enhanced somehow. Some with implants, some with cybernetics and I think some even genetically.
I mean, most of the weapons are pretty cool when you get down into it.
Red hot plasma slingers, a rifle that literally scramblers people's brains, and suits that allow you to carry light cannons that are effective up to 300 meters and are crazy accurate. |

The jove and a few other factions are that advanced, but they didn't have to go through the ice age the rest of us did for most of those 20k years. That's the point of Eve online/Dust we are living in a living universe whose storyline is "real" So until now they've never been able to build dropsuits like ours, these are brand new to the eve universe. We've only really just rediscovered space travel not to long ago in the lore!
I love how the original ships that brought us to New eden have been added to the game as hacking sites, so cool. |
