I think this is a good direction. There are three ways I can think of providing faction store rewards: cheaper, stronger or easier to fit. We don't yet know costs so we can't analyze that aspect. Stronger makes them hard to balance and almost required to be competitive. Easier fitting allows lower skilled mercs to assemble strong fits and skilled mercs to fit more higher end gear to a suit. Currently it's difficult to impossible to fit an all proto level suit. With specialist versions that may become feasible. |

Will the LP rewards be enough to replace combat losses using the faction store?
Will faction suits have faction camo? Silly, I know, but something I had hoped for. |

and maybe drop the manufacturer name altogether. I like the idea of killing with a 'Federal Marine Assault Rifle' better than a 'Federation Duvolle Specialist Assault Rifle'
Simpler is better. I don't think the factions need the second part to their name. If the Aurum items that are sold for LP retain their original name then I think the 'Specialist' could be dropped to shorten them as well. Just consider anything sold by the militias to be specialist fittings. I think the manufacturer name has to stay because it's the model name people are used to and lower grade versions could be sold. |

I think this would be a fair opportunity to add standard faction fits. Think of them like standard grade starter fits with no skill requirements. Paint them in faction colors and keep the LP cost low. The initial version could be an Assault dropsuit. Additional roles could be added as the racial variants are fleshed out across the races and you have time.
Standard grade gives an incentive to use over the starter fit and is underpowered compared to all the advanced and prototype gear that people use.
The suit is based on the chosen faction, not the player's birth race, so an Amarr seeing the true light could fit up in full Minmatar gear for LP and no initial skill training.
They are fully fit like the featured fits and starter fits to make it easy for beginners.
I'd also like to see faction variants of all level of dropsuits for LP and in faction colors. Limit the specialist coloring to a small stripe or patch so I can stop wearing a bright yellow suit on the battlefield. Losing the super dark black coloring at prototype would be nice too, especially for the scouts. Camo should act as camouflage. |

Specialist items should include the std and adv variants as it would give players of every skill level a chance to tailor their suits to the best that is can be for their skill level.
I hope to see specialist versions at all levels as well. |
