So, what happens if I want to use an Amarr suit with a non-Amarr weapon? Currently, I use full Amarr, but when the new weapons get added I might switch to one of those. I guess I can get any items I need off the market. Also, I hope that all of the PRO tier weapons get Specialist options. It's a way to let players get a small boost without breaking the game. They can fit a gun a tier higher than they could before or upgrade some of their other equipment with the spare PG/CPU.
This all seems great, but I'd also love for some special commodities that couldn't be obtained anywhere else. For instance, we have SP boosters that can be bought with AUR, so why not have Active SP Cap Boosters that can be purchased with LP? The active cap is really low on SP compared to what it used to be (190k down from 350k a week), but instead of raising it, you could encourage players to grind ISK in pubs once their cap has been reached to invest in FW to get LP, raising their SP cap by a small amount. This could further encourage a cycle of play.
So, maybe using one would raise that week's bonus SP cap from 190k to 250k. Not game breaking, but enough so that players that have a lot of time to invest can get a little more bonus SP, at a higher time investment due to the need to first obtain LP.
I also think that each faction should have specialty modules in the shop. Amarr can have more effective Reactive Plates. Gallente can have more effective Ferroscale Plates. Caldari can have Regenerative Shield Extenders that combine Shield Extenders with Shield Rechargers. Minmatar can have Cardiac Catalyzers that combine Kinetic Catalyzers with Cardiac Regulators. Items that compound two effects into one slot would be slightly more effective than using one of each of the component modules, since they are harder to obtain. |

Specialist items should include the std and adv variants as it would give playeres of every skill level a chance to tailor their suits to the best that is can be for their skill level.
Beyond skill level, some players would rather use a lower level weapon that's easier to fit and use the additional CPU/PG to upgrade other stuff, while conserving LP. For instance, I would have as much interest in a standard specialist Laser Rifle with Assault Rifle fitting costs as a Viziam.
Many suits I've worn, many burdens I've borne, for the oaths I've sworn.
