Homecoming
Dear Babygirl
Its been a long war against my brothers. Today we with under the command God Radar the supreme allied commander over the Sver Prime theater. When I arrived to the outskirts of the planet the atmosphere was brown by the smoke of the burning planet surface. I had to watch my home world glassed, the world where I grew up in. The world where I met and married your mother. The world where you were born and also the world she gave her life for. My corp leader did his best to comfort me but a millions things raced through my mind. How did I get here?
Before battle I went to see your mother. Yeah I know it was a bad idea in the worst of times but I had to see her. I had to tell how much things have changed. So I went on the first shuttle to Sver Prime's capitol to the True Blood cemetery. Once we broke through the thick and heavy smoke I glanced out and saw my home nothing but rubble and ruins. I felt an eerie sadness when I witnessed the landscape.
When I landed the smoke was to thick to breath probably so we were given masks to breath of the butchered planet surface. OH made their military presents clear in the capitol. Though I can still hear fighting within the city their glassing of a nearby city was such a raw display of power that demonstrated a lost war. As I walk through the streets they reminded me of various towns in Minmatar during the Amarr sieges in Metropolis. A woman ran to me and begged for help for her dying son. Her infant son was choking because of the thick smoke. I followed her, I know it was foolish it could have been a trap but her cries were genuine. I followed her to a destroyed structure that used to be a house. I gave the infant treatment then the woman saw my wife's Court Guards dog tags and saw my uniform. She screamed at me, called me traitor and told me to leave. The baby was still having trouble breathing but she didn't want a traitor touching her child. She screamed it to me like it was disease, "traitor, traitor, traitor!" I felt and when I did it was like the whole city knew who I was. I was hearing traitor and I walked down the street, even food was thrown at me. This is what my people have been reduced to, it was a pitiful sight.
I was able to make it to the cemetery and even that very place was scared. Bullet holes and blood litter the place at least your mothers tombstone was untouched. We sat at talked, well I talked and she just listen like she always has. I told her about me, the war, and you. I think she would like to know how much her "little princess" has grown. I think she liked that. I left a picture at her gravesite, it was one of me and you. I think a picture of you grown up was a nice gift for her wait.
I then when to our home on Mongr Boulevard. Of course it was ransacked but most of our photo's were there. I went to my bedroom and glaze outside, this place used to be so beautiful now it so ugly. Now that war decorated the land with fire and blood our world is a disgusting place.
I look at my medal I won during the many wars I fought for Sver. I even looked at my old pictures with my comrades. I wonder are still alive now? Then your dad still something that was incredibly foolish; he went to the basement and turn on his old combat radio and switched I to the Guards Channel. It worked amazing but all I can hear is Ritslight calling for someone to respond on this channel. He would say it over and over just wait for someone to respond. I sat their for hours just listening to my old friend and thinking I should be with him. I should be by his side as he was by mines in many conflicts prior. I then worked up the courage to say "'I'm listening." He then paused, he knew who was on this channel and replied "Come at me, bro!" then laugh out loud over the channel. It was if nothing change, even if it was for that moment I felt that way. So we chatted like old friends do. It was long chat. He told me that his was to organized the SPDF last stand then reality came crashing back. I told him that I was the in the unit sent to clear that battle space. Why did he have to be the one I have to fight? Why couldn't it be someone else? Why him? He then told me war has a funny way of playing games on you, and these games can be quite ruthless. I then told him "True Blood always!" He responded with, "Indeed we are!" The channel stop broadcasting. I guess that was our way of saying farewell.
Back on the ship Reiselia briefed us on the operation. She told us the strategic points that we are to take and with OH heavy bombardment of the area expect the SPDF to be thinned out. I look at my weapon and then I understood I would have to used the training I learn from Sver and mostly likely I will have to fight my recruits I trained. You dad felt a deep sadness for what he was about to do and was hoping that once of his recruits would best him. I'm sorry but your dad was wanting to die, but he would willing give up his live. They would have earn it.
God Radar was leading this operation. I was to drop in the burnzone with Reiselia and Mike; it was impossible to land until AA stopping the MCC's was clear. It was understood the Bleeding Antelope was defending the AA batteries; it took several hours due to the SPDF reinforcement commanded by CPL Bloodstone they held things up be they were defeated. In a land ditch effort to stop the OH's MCC's from touching ground Ragewardog 22nd with Valto 74th Battalion performed a suicide charge this only staled the impeding assault.
With the forces landed Spike and Jedi Monster attacked the disembarking units nearly wiping out 23rd and 17th Shock Brigade. With attacking SPDF crushed. The remaining units and their commanders Silverback, Alexander, and Ritslight dug in as the overwhelming OH landing forces struck them. They honorably fought to the last man, the unit commanders at this moment can not be found but its assumed they fell beside their men. Sver Prime has fallen; my home. |
