Cool read if you're into the universe and story. It's not The Grapes of Wrath or anything but entertaining as far as space opera tied to a gaming universe goes..
[Edit: Well.. not even space opera. I'm thinking the first one. More like... read it if you liked reading some of the Chronicles and want higher quality longer story...] |

If you haven't all ready, a lot of people say you don't have to read Empyrean Age before Templar One, but if you like back story especially some of the political structure/events that took place before Templar One Empyrean Age makes Templar One that much better of a read.. |

a lot of the stories can be summed up as "he stared wild eyed at the view screen of his prey locked in the cold metallic drone bay attempting to escape the holographic entrapment of his own addled mind. a needle flew from a drone into his prey's neck, silencing his screams in the darkness of space in a whimpering convulsion of tubes and nanite filled fluid. As his prey finally collapsed, The Other picked up a slim metallic object and caressed it, thinking all the while of the metallic taste of blood as he starred at the thin crimson ribbon coursing out of his prey's mouth..."
Oh. And spaceships or some ****.
The rather boring opening scene from the Empyrean Age where they are doing salvage in space is probably one of my favorite pieces of lore because it's like... hey, story of spaceships. The rest... meh. |

You ever go to Amazon for one thing, and find yourself lost in "Customers who bought this item also bought". So 30 day EVE tryout for 20 bucks? Tempting indeed. |

Read em both if you haven't. It's a great setting for EVE and then a huge insight into the preamble into DUST itself. Besides the explosions and huge spaceships, the personal agendas, political infighting and interactions as well as the actual social aspects of the empire's is incredibly intriguing. |

Its worth doing the full trilogy. Ruthless (all chapters) is available on the eve website as a pdf, then empyrean age and then templar one (all written by tony gonzales) they all follow on from each other and if you look for the youtube empyrean age video bites too it helps create a great image. it'd be great to get all 3 in some kind of omnibus edition seeing as Ruthless isn't very long. bu tthey are deffinitly worth the read, also check out ebay. you can normally get them at agreat price in good condition for a fraction of amazon prices
oh and for those of you too lazy to google....
