- Get people to play a fixed number of matches (say, 30). - Instead of setting up a minimum winning threshold (e.g. 55%), make it a sliding scale. The higher your win% (up to the 55%), the better. This way everyone gets a prize that's in line with their effort and skills. - Let winners select prizes for a number of meta levels. This way players can decide whether they want a load of cheap gear, or a few proto items. This is good for beginners and vets, and everyone can get the equipment they need. This will encourage more people to play.
Just my 0.02 ISK...

That would lead to more protostomping, or a proto-only event. |

That would lead to more protostomping, or a proto-only event. More? Not possible. Proto Only? Sounds like people would have to actually make an investment in the event. Not a few quality players relying on a bunch of MLTberries that are just pissing in the wind to maybe try to get a single objective while 1 squad holds 60% of the map. You're right, I've been protostomped nearly every single match. Just trying to be diplomatic!
Making an investment in the game is fair, but it would also mean that events are a waste of time and ISK for newberries and many lone wolves.
We need better matchmaking for newberries to stay. For better matchmaking, we need more players. I hope this isn't a downward spiral... |
