Disclaimer: I'm a scout but not a shotty scout
The MLT shotgun should be fine for now and the scout suit bonus doesn't really do much for you until lvl 5.
Not sure how much SP will be needed, but I recommend unlocking std plates (I find STD plate + STD reactive to be a good combo), unlocking STD nanohives, and getting lvl 1 gal/min light suit. If the MLT light suit has enough CPU/PG to fit the shotgun, armor, and nano, you can hold off on the suit to save some SP initially.
That should be a good starting point. |

That should be a good starting point. STD plates do mean armor plates? and what is STD reactive?
Yes, I mean the standard armor plates. Reactive armor plates are a variant of armor plating that provides less armor but also gives some armor repair. |

The speed decrease given by Standard tier armor plates is noticeable but minor (especially with the decreased viability of speed tanking).
The armor plates give more health which is always a good thing.
The reactive plates give a tiny amount of armor regen so it isn't very useful mid-fight but the armor regen + extra armor goes a long way to surviving multiple fights.
I don't use plates past the standard tier so I can't comment about whether or not ferroscale plates become a better option at higher tiers but at the standard level, I feel the speed decrease is minor enough that I would rather have the extra armor or armor regen. |
