don't use high ground.
it's a rule of mine, to never go up on high ground, and every single time I break that rule I'm dead within 15 seconds.
sniping from high ground is the quickest way to end up dead lol....
for fits, you need damage mods, and maxed proficiency, and I suggest boosting your tanking skills as high as possible, it won't be all that useful but any time you survive a SR shot is a chance to save a suit and locate the sniper shooting you.
if you are going to be a decent sniper you'll need to learn to ground snipe and if you are ground sniping you'll inevitably need to learn to use your side arm, so get skill points in a side arm, I choose the flay lock because it uses very little cpu and pg. |

yes and no, proto sniping is fun for those that like it, and they have a lot of uses, but in the majority of games your team is going to be flooded with bad snipers making your role diminished, and on the majority of maps sniping is out right designed against though you can work around it.
sniping has the added advantage of being a lone wolf role, though we operate very well in squads if you want, so if you are a player that likes to solo sometimes sniping mains are good.
I have a proto caldari assault sniping fit which is my main sp investment, and a proto AR gal logi ground fit. I use the ground fit for the tight close quarter battles of the new maps, and my sniping fits for a lot of the older maps.
so to answer your question sniping mains are worth it but only if you can make it worth it. |

Sunara Detra wrote:Hmm interesting last question is the charge sniper better then the isuke sniper?i think thats kinda how its spelled.
charged rifle has the shortest scope and highest burst damage output of any sniper rifle as such it's a suitable marksmen rifle for ground sniping and short-long range engagements.
tactical rifles are extreme long range rifles with rapid fire advantages which make them ideal counter sniping tools especially for head glitchers. the rapid fire nature of these rifles means in a pinch you can use them as a marksmen rifle but the charged rifle is generally easier because of it's short range scope.
ishukone rifles and other standard rifles have average dps good range and decent clips as such it's a solid rifle but really has no strong points or tactical advantages as such I never see any reason to use it over the other rifles. |
