while ur hot fixing aur item promotions u think you could work on the game itself?
cause uhh no one really cares about aur items.
at this point i would be happy for you to be ninja nerfing and buffing things at least then something would be getting done.
1.5 was a month of waiting for nothing..seen more aur promotions than i have improvements in dust since january, are you not happy with the money your making? maybe if u fixed something that would change. |

no sane gamer would spend money in dust isk rewards are not balanced neither are suits or vehicles it is a waste of money. i only spent money in dust when i thought it had potential now i think its going to die out. i really hoped the ep change and crew change for vehicles would improve dust...we will see..i have not noticed any difference yet ill give it a few months but fotm i think they are just wasting they're time the game isn't good enough to spend money on. would you buy dust seeing it before hand at full new game price in the state its in?

The last and only bit of money I put into Dust was the Elite thing. I only got it because, personally, I thought that the game was going to be... not like it is now? I didn't care for BPOs in it or the boosters or any of that. I supported the dream. I had played prior to getting it. To commemorate Uprising's initial launch, I got it.
We've... lost a bit of things since beta, still are. I dare say we've lost more than we've gotten back.
I had high hopes.
Had.
I'm burning out my last passive and that will be that. What a shame. What a waste of a dream. |

I honestly have not looked at a single promotion for months. It's nothing i want. All my suits/equipment are ISK, i'm not buying boosters until CCP brings us the SP rollover system. And at 23 million SP i'm prolly done with boosters anyway.
The only thing that could tempt me at this point are BPO's that absolutely should not be in the game.
I'm really curious what CCP's revenue model is at this point. Between their actions re: the sp rollover system and their AUR-gear focused marketing strategy, i am well and truly done with AUR, and i'm not alone.
I want to support CCP with cash but i need two things before that can happen: they need to respect the time i put into the game and make things as comfortable/convenient for me(players) as possible, and they need to offer product i need or want.

a nice solid rant that ccp should listen 2 :) i agree i would only spend money at this point if they started introducing bpo's for good gear...i think you should have to have reached an sp point and then veteran bpos should open up and they should be blueprint adv gear 20 mill sp or 30 mill sp would be a sufficient cap for veteran bpos they could squeeze allota money out of me this way dunno about others ..whatever they're marketing plan is for dust only the newer players are uninformed enough i think at this point to buy aurum gear i never see vets rocking it anymore |

As a "new" player to Dust 514 I am in a position where booster packs are almost a must for me. I only have 3.9 million lifetime SP so far and am severely outgunned by the "veterans" of this game that have 20+ million SP and have been able to unlock pretty much everything they need to destroy everyone. I do not enjoy getting put into a game and watch my team of 16 only able to kill 10 of the opposing team and watch as our 80 clones are decimated. I hate getting "proto" stomped. For me that's not fun. I do not buy the packs tho because I know they wouldn't last. I only get the boosters in hopes that I can sooner than later match the big boys and not die quite so many times.
I believe Dust is trying to cater more to the new players with their packs and their Aurum items because a new player doesn't quite understand how devastating a Boundless Heavy machine gun with a Proto Heavy suit and a Proto Logi behind him playing guardian, can be.
I agree, something needs to change. I would love to see a game mode where everyone has the exact same equipment/ suit and then its based solely on skill rather than equipment with rewards for this mode big enough to get people to play it.
Maybe I just don't know what I'm talking about....

i have a thread about just this limiting suit use in ambush making an alternate menu lvl 1-5 and give all suits a rating based on whats fitted to them then that lvl is all that could be used in the corresponding ambush tier
well that lvl and under |

I think buying boosters at the beginning is a good idea to get your feet under you.
I just want to make one point related to your post.
Many of the elite vets here(and i am definitely not one of them) can make noob toons, spend none of the starting skillpoints, use only the starter fits, graduate from the academy in one battle, and proceed to run positive and make good isk in most pub battles.
I know this is true because i've done it twice myself to test out the new player experience, and i'm an average skill level player.
If those vets take their noob toons and run in a squad, they will win most of their matches and their losses will very rarely be redlines.
My point is that yes, skillpoints and gear do make a big difference, but the single biggest factors are personal player skill and squad coordination coupled to tactics and strategy. Doesn't mean it's not brutal out there on the battlefield, but it does mean that a low skillpoint player can adapt their playstyle and still do reasonably well. |
