Does anyone know the difference between the advanced and proto laser rifle? It shows they have the same damage and accuracy but the proto has slower heat buildup. Is the Viziam even worth getting over the ELM-7? |

There is very little difference apart from I believe a part from the heat mechanics of the weapon. I recommend staying with the ELM unless you know you want to have the Viziam, which is slightly better, but again a glorified laser pointer. |

The heat build up is the only difference besides the price and resource draw.
If you have skilled into the Amarr Assault suit to at least 3. The LR and suit heat build up bonuses works well together but the Viziam is better than an ELM but to me not worth the price.

Considering the only laser that kills me is Viziam and it does it in 2 hits, I'd say go with Viziam |

Proto laser takes longer to overheat, allowing you to shoot longer to build up more damage from continuous fire. This, and the increasing overheat damage (gets worse with higher tier lasers) is the only difference among laser rifles, just stick to standard or advanced. |

Some dude was melting me in under a second with the vizam today... Just saying. It was absurdly good. Probably more a function of proficiency and Damage mods than the laser rifle he was using though. |

I use the long scan because it hits 150 out and the LR will make and still do damage.

there is virtually no damage related difference except at the end of a firing cycle..the elm could kill you the same way with the proper person using it..your insta death was not because of the viziam but because of the user..using the weapon properly |
