I need to get this sh*t of my chest ....
So ...after a week of not being able to Dust at all, i get a 2 hour Dust Window, i get on login and go for some action...
First Game, i load into it ....VICTORY ......wait ......dafuq ....
Ok guess this sh*t still happens ....
Second Game, Load into it ....LOSE ....oh ffs come on ....
Third times a charm right ?
Third Game, Load into it ..../starts foaming ...i see our MCC at 25%...being delusional about being able to change something, i spawn aaaanddd see/meet completely NOONE ....for said 25%....O_o did they implement cloaks ?
Fourth Game, oh yeah ...Sweet ..new full game, rush to the objective ...meet heavy Proto-Resistance Exxcelent near At!! i, Slay & **** my way to A and when i get there, turn around to see noone on my side in viewing distance x_x....so when i am then hacking all alone, a guy scratches my back, i scratch his face, he dies ....but then inc are all the guys i previously killed and die.
I check the scoreboard, 2 proto teams...i check my side ...all pristine Blueberries i /Facepalm and take a Tankshell to the face. Match ends with a 28/8 with the second guy going 3/8, 4/11 etc ....at least the enemy teams must have been foaming too because i received some fanmail...about some Imperial Cheatgun...
Fifth Game, cant be worse then game Four right RIGHT? Load into it ....3% left on our MCC ....
Sixth and Final game didnt happen because i was kicked from the server.....and decided Sleep couldnt fail me like Scotty did...
/sigh....

Borne Velvalor wrote:I was in a proto squad last night and we had a nice match of "catch the mythical intruder."
We spent the match frolicking the match away, shooting each other, because it placed our whole squad against one guy. Then, another guy joined, and it added him to OUR SIDE. Hello, it's 6 vs 1 and you make it 7 vs 1? The hell?
Towards the end, I was lucky enough to score an assist on him with my SMG. Almost killed me while I was laughing my butt off at him trying to hack the Terminal at the last few seconds of the match. Our team scored an amazing two kills and zero deaths. I was so proud.
lol, thats hilarious |

Until our server population numbers rise i'm not sure there's an easy answer. There's so much proto in pubs now that the job of the matchmaker is essentially impossible, imo. Tbh, i'm amazed it does as well as it does.
About those Proto matches... Maybe they should let us input the value of our equipemt that we would like to commit to the battle, like say i comit 2m ISK to the battle and when i die 10 times in a 150k fit, am left with a maxium of 500k isk left to comit, so i either continue with 3 proto suits or swap to 10 advanced suits.
And then Scotty matches ISK Commited vs ISK from the opposing team. |

It was just a random number to make the example with. |

I don't die that often in STD gear. xD I think the bulk of that protogear is being paid for with PC income, so what we get in pubs are the most experienced squads running top-end gear, and they just don't have to care about ISK losses. The squad experience is almost certainly a bigger contributor to the stomping than the gear. The prevalence of protogear is basically the most obvious symptom of a deeper disease. But thinking about this situation is actually a fantastic opportunity to prepare for DUST's future: these disparities in wealth and income are going to be grossly magnified when we connect to EVE. These problems we are discussing need to be solved with that in mind. The punch line is that gamemodes and matchmaking need to be able to accommodate a significant portion of the playerbase who have basically unlimited wealth. This is our chance to get that right before things get really messy.
There really needs to be something added to fix the matchmaking, I run proto 24/7 and i got 260m ISK left and ive been running proto since i got it 2 months after launch, there is no need for me to run anything else, i got roughly 2500 (500m Isk) proto deaths without a single revive (because i run solo) and i could care less, i would like to care though...

I don't die that often in STD gear. xD It was just a random number to make the example with. I have seen you go 30 and 0 for many matches so if you die ZERO times it costs YOU zero ISK. Unlike no skill saps like me that run militia most times but then I am at 800 million ISK just from pubs. If I run advanced I die two to three times per match but still make a profit.
True, cant say that i am a easy nut to crack in my proto-suit, but if you have to commit a Max value to the battle and i put in 200k isk for one suit and die on impact i am done in that game.(this brings with other problems though, but they could be fixed), but then you get an overal picture of how much ISK(Equipment) people are willing to bring to the fight as a measure of how bad its gonna be.
1 guy puts in Free suits only, other guy commits 20m of Tanks then the Militia guy is prolly outclassed in this fight and added to another game.
Damn, thats a nice amount of ISK you got there :), ive tried running advanced, but i get paired to much against stacked teams with 15 cluelessBerries and really need it to compete against 12 other Proto-Suits on the field.
Edit: That said, dust would be allot mor interesting if Proto-Cakes are seen once in a couple of fights or during PC, not 6-10 in a pubmatch... |

in a pub match Domination...they prob were on corp chat laughing their butts off
turned game off, went to Gamestop, been NBA2K'ing ever since...
Yeah, bluedots are going of the field faster then they can respawn, i know the feeling, at least i was able to shut them all up on their voice server, i wonder what the squad was talking about when i took out 4 of them (all Protos) then 2 flanked me, took out another then i was down to 3 Armor and no Shields, Ducked into an alcove forcing the guy to break his cover then sprinting out jumping once to throw his aim off and i killed him with a shot to the noggin in midair...almost felt like i did some APB R Jump Sniping here lol
His name was _____________-Yu, at least these guys werent feeling very happy :p |

Today matchmaking was pretty fine ....
But lol....this was new ...
I ....load into a game solo, spot a team of 6 that ive come across some more times, all proto-cakes ..seeing each time it didnt go so swell for these guys and i mean barely all six of em 1:1 KDR.....they all drop from the game....
I look to my side just me and 15 Failberries..../dafuq...
Ohwell ....one must have disconnected i guess or i dunno went afk ....and they all left because of it...
Few games in, i join a game in progress and spot mah buddies...."oh Hai guys" ...i perforate one of em ....aaand they all drop from the game....
Seriously 6 guys dropping ....against 1 lone wolf, i know some perform a drop out because they know they cant win against stacked team, but 6 man squads dropping if they see a half decent player ?
Anyone have that happen lol? |
