Picking off red berries while the enemy team holds most the objectives. I've been noticing that a lot recently in FW, the team winning in the clone battle has been losing a lot in the MCC battle.
It is difficult to hack solo as you tend to get shot in the back. The vast majority of the objective control in that game came from the semi-competent blueberries who hacked whilst I covered them. |

I dropped a few uplinks/hives on the map before switching to Assault and literally NO ONE else managed to drop a single uplink/hive for the rest of the game. I was the only one that went for the objective hack (Domination) after dropping my one-man-orbital on them. Everyone else would just spawn on my uplinks, kill my nanohives by shooting at the ground, and die repeatedly. And this is why I almost never run solo anymore. If I'm not dropping uplinks, no one is dropping uplinks. If I'm not scanning, no one is scanning. If I'm not hacking, no one is hacking. Got to do everything myself. That is enough to drive any sane person mad.
This feel, I know this feel. I run solo the vast majority of the time and sometimes it feels like I'm the only person trying to win. Starting to stick to ambush where I can carry teams for this very reason now. |

Starting to stick to ambush where I can carry teams for this very reason now. Whenever I go solo I've been tending to stick to Ambush as well. Basically my philosophy is, "F*** my blueberries, they aren't going to do anything. I'm going to run off to the side, build a little fort, and give it everything I got - me versus the world."
Yeah. I'm learning to kite with the laser rifle and a scout suit in ambushes at the moment,, and that's working out pretty well. It's a bit of a sad KDR padding exercise but it's enjoyable and imho more interesting than brawling with an AR all day. When I run my SCR, triage hives work really well for that 'forting up' you described.
I prefer to run Skirmishes though because that's the mode FW uses, so I'm trying to train myself to get better at that. ATM I'm training hacking skills and perhaps even trying to fit a hacking module on some of my suits so I can do the hacking which is otherwise deadly to even attempt. |

No, because you're in a squad and I can clearly see orbitals on your kills over time graph. Nah, GJ. |

I don't know, both solo and squad playstyles have their pros and cons. Solo has the obvious disadvantage of not being as effective for the win as a squad, but at the same time I find that doing well solo is one of the more satisfying things you can do, because if you score well you know it was much more based on your own merits.
Proper teamwork with a squad is also great, and especially rewarding if you're directing newbies and seeing them dominate regardless of SP. The moments where everything starts to come together with a squad of friends are really great.
Personally, I solo more. It's mostly because I have no friends, but also because I enjoy that playstyle. |
