I encourage EVERYONE that wants to play a fast scout suit to get those. It took me months (because I took some breaks because the shotguns were broken until 1.4).
Such an SP sink to get KinCats to 5, but with 2 Complex ones in your low slots, this is a different game! I enjoy my paperthin fast-"sneaking" backstabbing killmobile .... I die a lot (that's me, not the suit) but it's so much more fun now than without those KinCats :D
A shame that I can't fit 2 AND a scanner on a medium scout suit. |

Wouldn't you use other blueprints (of you have them?) I think CCP clarified that only the BPOs that need a certain skill give the bonus of the skill. So if you have the .. what's it called ... not the raven ... that other Scout BPO ... then you also get your scoutbonus. |

Scout suits are light. Regardless, that speed will hardly help now that hit detection has been vastly improved with weapons and thus you are still relatively easy to gun down.
As I said, I kill people from behind most of the time. And with 2 complex kincats you can even fight single guys from upront and run after 1-2 hits and come back when your shields are up again. |

I changed the typo ... when I typed "medium" my brain meant "the middle one" -> Advanced (standard -> advanced -> Proto, since I save all my fittings with the number of the skill that I need ,so
G Scout3 SG3 KinCats5 Is an advanced shotgunscout with an advanced shotgun and complex kincats .... sorry |

Niuvo wrote:I want comp kins too! Being fast is a rush, getting a knife kill while sprinting is a rush. Like you say, it's a different game only scouts can play
I tried a knife-only suit 2 times and stopped it immediately. If enemys sprint you can't hit them, and if you come from behind there are only 2 kinds of players: Snipers (not moving) and the rest of the people (sprinting or in a fight with your team)... since a scout shouldn't be too close to his team (-> gets shot), you only have a few snipers to kill. |

Oh they are tributes to that older game? I never played MAG. So those suitnames are derived from that game? Nice. |

Cmp KinCats aren't worth the SP for a Scout. My two cents as a former and would-be speed tanker.
Remember, a high end AR can kill you in 1/3 of a second, regardless of how fast you sprint.
There's bad information in this thread, newbro Scouts. Beware.
IF you READ what most of us where talking about, you wouldn't have needed to post that comment.
It's not about speedTANKING, but about speed giving the possibility to attack people from behind and run away fast. That still works very well. |

I have two suit goals that are hard to fit on an advanced gallente frame:
Scout with scanner, hacking devices and 2 kincats: Avoid enemy contact altogether (with the scanner) and ninja-hack everything.
... and I just forget the 2nd one ;D

There's bad information in this thread, newbro Scouts. Beware. True you can't speed tank while trying to gun people down but for other applications it works wonders. Perhaps "tanking" was poorly chosen. To clarify, stacking KinCats on a Scout ... Works When: On recon or uplink duty (Logi better) Rushing a first letter (LAV/DS better) Fails When: In combat or under fire Trying to evade enemy fire SOMETIMES WORKS Trying to escape if/when detected (running away) OFTEN WORKS
---> Kill people from behind -> Problems solved |
