Your just putting on a suit after all, I don't need any skills to put on a tux or 2 button peak lapel.
I think everybody should be able to wear any suit and only get racial bonuses from skills. |

Well, I mean, I know what you're saying. There really is no substantial reason a person already skilled in the basics of suit operation for a militia fit should have any real issue scaling up to a proto; in theory it might even be easier to pilot being a superior suit. The stats are nearly identical and it's only a few more slots, PG/CPU, but otherwise there is no significant difference to justify the pre-reqs. The cost in ISK makes sense, but not the cost in SP.
At the same time, why does a grenade designed to function completely autonomously of the suit require PG/CPU? The same with basically every piece of equipment, though the guns kind of make sense if it's implied they link to the suit to power and operate them with the CPU for some mechanics (though I don't see any connectors for PG; maybe it's in the palm?).
It's just meta-level BS to fabricate difficulty and a sense of advancement/growth/superiority. Because, well, I mean, it's a game and some games need that kind of thing you know? At least that's apparently the CCP vision, though I like what's happening here and think it'd be a perfectly valid even entertaining system.

More like jamming and/or backfiring on you. Like, if you mess up a plasma cannon, or a flaylock, or a swarm launcher, odds are... KA-BOOM!! |

Bunch of lore there, a lot o the suits have subsystems and enhancements in them meaning that if you're not trained in using them you could injure or even kill yourself. |

But then those skillpoints you save from not training bow tie up, can be spent on skilling up canes. Makes you look more pimp! |

You do need skills to put on the shirt and then the tux. You just learned them trough life without noticing. Same as for putting on a bow tie or a tie, tying your shoes, and so on. You are high level at life ,just havn't noticed. XD
So m now imagine in order to put on a highly complex suit like the ones in dust XD |

I think everybody should be able to wear any suit and only get racial bonuses from skills. The suits use a neural interface, so your brain has to know how to talk to the suit. |

you have no skill with this, but here have a prototype infantry combat platform. absolutely top of the line not even in full production yet. ... what do you mean where is the on switch? ... yes well this isn't a minmatar suit we do things differently. ... for the last time there is no bloody on switch. ... no no no don't touch that! ... well crap. steve it's your turn to call the janitorial staff. ... we lose more clones that way... |
