I was talking about PC in general not just for tankers and honestly before and even after uprising tanks do fine in PC it's the drivers that get them killed or the idiot telling them to do something that'll get them killed :P

They know how to use the tank to be effective and lethal killers. The problem with tanking is it takes real skill beyond what is handed it out in game. The poor tankers only have advanced gear tanks going up against prototype AV weapons. Sadly, I feel the proposed changes to tanks make them less lethal and easer to kill while making it more of a duck and cover game for them. Sad thing is the free LAV is the reason why everyone has proto AV at such a early stage making it really difficult for vehical users to easily aquire the skill needed to be effective in battle.

As for AV Grenades they were running heavy AV grenades whenever I was supporting attacks of C and E, as I'm sure you know with those Supply Depots on the roof tops of the Small Outposts you tend to get guys switching to AV as you cover the CRU. We held B and the high ground CRU ourselves most of the match, I never had to drive up there excepting of one time where I had to cut the map, and all I saw were two stragglers with AV grenades. D was pretty heavy with AV, I basicall have a spot I sit in opposite he point, and next to the Supply Depot which lets me cover the entire objective. Here I was getting swarms, AV grenades, forcing me to circle, to wait for actives, then come back. I caught one Tank down in the Caldera below the bridge, heading for E and milling about with its back to me. I caught the second on D using the low hills to escape AV, gunned him down on the run. I caught the third, ADV or PRO Railgun fit out at E, the guy would have beaten me if he'd picked a Heat Sink II and Tracking Computer, instead of Damage Control and Nitrous Booster.

I am only using the N5 right now for lack of SP. But what really hit me for the best skills worth investing in was the basic armour upgrades for that total 10% passive reduction to damage. I only had 4%, the 10% makes my tank a rock solid and dependable unit to have around.

I hate swarms, more than forges, sure forges can get up high but I can usually make cover, rep and recall, and focus on something else, like scanning support. But Swarms are ridiculous. Phasing through cover, making sharp 180 turns, watching dirty Minmatar strafe through my blaster rounds, etc.

The first solo match you survive and thrive is notable. The first solo match that do the above and top the boards ... that feeling lasts for along time. Enjoy it. Now I just have to get decent with Blasters. I run Rails, nearly all the time. I have dropped several Somas lately. Fully intent on taking my Mad out. But hardeners and repair with a heat sink has stopped them every time. So far. I don't recall running into you as yet. I will keep an eye out for you. It is much harder knowing who you are against with the drastic reduction in information these days.

My personal record is 7 kills, 3 losses in chrome with a gunlogi on manus peak. i was by myself vs 4 other tanks. it was awesome :) glad 1.6 will bring back the glass cannon gunlogi as a thing. :)

Topping the boards isn't that tough, I do it more often than not when I am not squadded with Aero, but yeah, those were milestones.

Good job, in particular when the details were expanded. Like you running a Soma and while at least one of the tanks was on the run a kill is still a kill. I am glad I read the rest of the comments. The most I have popped solo is only four, at least that I can recall. I have done more but only with a Gunner. I dread Random Blue Belles because they have cost me nearly as many tanks as the Reds themselves. The first solo match that you survive is notable. The first solo match you survive and thrive is notable. The first solo match that do the above and top the boards ... that feeling lasts for along time. Enjoy it. Now I just have to get decent with Blasters. I run Rails, nearly all the time. I have dropped several Somas lately. Fully intent on taking my Mad out. But hardeners and repair with a heat sink has stopped them every time. So far. I don't recall running into you as yet. I will keep an eye out for you. It is much harder knowing who you are against with the drastic reduction in information these days. Topping the boards isn't that tough, I do it more often than not when I am not squadded with Aero, but yeah, those were milestones. Blasters are the fun Turrets. Sure the tactical approach of the Rail Gun is nice, I roll my Rail tanks as Tank Destroyers. ambushes in urban zones, ridge line denial, I will never rail snipe, I hate people who do, they are poor tankers, and ever greater cowards, come fight me Rail to Rail on the map. But the Blaster is the exercise is approach, are you fits as good as they can be, which modules to activate and when, what angle to approach from, who to engage first, etc. Can tell you how many times a tank has aggressed me, dropped Avers, I chose to gun them down first, then turned my attentions to an overheated tank and gunned it down as well. Rail snipers have their place just as blasters have their place. A blaster is more likely to get the kill, but a rail denies area more efficiently. 1.6 will be fun to watch, as I see most people going Madrugar/Blaster without doing the math, only to realize that missiles and rails will be more powerful than they have ever been (except rails in Chrome. lol)

So yeah I guess that's meh. Yeah that's pretty lucky. Followed that up with another 5 tank game. 3 Madrugar kills, one Gunlogi Assist, and finally one of my gunners claims a Missile Maddy which we win in a straight up brawl.
