The beginnings of matches seem to be a massive scramble for who can destroy the most neutral installations. I see heavies driving around with AFGs, blowing turrets up just for the sake of points.
This isn't strategic at all, people are ruining the potential defences of their own team just for the sake of attaining 50 extra war points.
CCP, please remove points for destroying neutral installations. |

If I blow up those neutral installations before the enemy can take control of them, the tankers on my side don't need to worry about randomly getting hit by railguns from across the map. I don't have to worry about being blown up by a blaster turret in my LAV, and the enemy is DENIED potential wp that I now have earned for my squad to use. Not to mention dropships are so much easier to fly when you're not getting shot at as you're trying to land.
By detroying all of the possible turrets... on some maps you can advance your wp gain by 1000 or more, especially if you go and get the ones on the enemy side too. This means that your squad has access to an early orbital that can be essential for defending and countering a redlining team.
Besides, you should know that turrets don't even work half the time. Blaster turrets actually hit to the side of you instead of hitting you (unless you get super close), and all types of turrets are super weak and easy to destroy. Don't even get me started about how destroying one gives you more than a supply depot or CRU (makes no sense seeing how much harder the latter are to destroy). Oh, and there's that turret that's underground on some maps...
These things need to be addressed first, as hacking turrets for defense isn't worth it when they can be easily hacked to the opposing side...and when they don't even work properly.
So it's suddenly a good idea to assume that the enemy, who are 600+ metres away, are going to quickly tale over a turret that is next to the objective on completely the other side to them?
There is no strategic reason to destroy our defence turrets... If you get an LAV and ride over there to destroy the neutral turrets on their side or in the middle then I will give you credit, but you are impeding your team by destroying the ones which are blatantly not going to be taken over by them and are in our defensive positions.

Well, I hope you're satisfied for griefing your own team. How are we meant to defend ourselves from vehicles, besides from switching to an AV class? It is people like this who result in us getting lined, and I am not a 'blueberry'.

Well don't come crawling back to the forums asking for a vehicle nerf when you destroy all of our defences - strictly speaking OUR DEFENCES and not some random turrets riddled across the map. I am talking primarily about the 2-4 turrets (excluding the base ones) which prevent us from getting lined. |

For the third time already, go ahead - destroy the turrets in the middle of the map and do whatever the heck you want... but leave the ones near our base, because destroying those is what enables protostompers to keep us behind our line -_-
The enemy isn't going to go and hack a turret right next to your main base and use it to destroy vehicles when there are 2 objectives between them and the rest of their team.
Leave those damn turrets, they are there for a reason. |

A blue installation becomes a red installation. You blueberries never defend it, never use it most of the time and never need it to cap an objective.
It is going away because my tank can't move forward until those things are gone. Otherwise, it is sitting there waiting to go red.
I've also seen one too many red cannons hold blueberries at bay. Best to remove them from the equation.
This never happens to the turrets which are outside of our base... I AM NOT talking about the random turrets in the middle.
But selfish WP-hungry Heavies/Tanks feel the need to blow up the turrets in place to prevent us getting protostomped and lined in... |
