Hello!
Let's discuss the sniper role! What are your builds? Are you mobile or stationary or something else all together? How do you make yourself an asset to the team?
I'll start with my recently discovered and now favorite build.
Adv. Min logi
Proto tactical sniper rifle
3x complex damage mods
As much armor as you can stack
3x compact nano hives
Now this fit may seem strange. But it is built for a singular purpose. Area denial. With proficiency 3+ and the complex damage mods you will be 1-3 shotting many suits which is nice. But the amount of consistent raw dps you can deal out with the tactical is staggering. Ammo is not a problem thanks to the hives, so you can just keep shooting. This fit is also an excellent counter sniper. Decent mobility and the ability to tank a few shots and rep yourself in a pinch.
The ability to shut down an enemies push to the next point, or at the very least slow it down to a crawl, is extremely useful.

Yeah, the Thale... I've only got three of those left and I'm saving em for special occasions. If I were say any one things is slightly overpowered in this game it'd be the Thale. I mean, going 40+-0 and never even having a shot fired in your general direction is a bit crazy. That said, I friggin' love em. |

Yes, but I think of it this way.
The enemy is pushing on to a point, I see it happening and inform the squad. A few people move in to defend, I offer support fire. I am a defender that the enemy cannot remove from the equation. Not to say that the sniper role is vital in every situation, or even a majority of them. But it does have its place. |
