This is NOT what I was looking for.
Call me whatever you want, Assaulter, Flanker, Skirmisher, WP Wh*re, I really don't care about how you "identify" my role on the battlefield, but I know what I do and I do it with very appreciable results and I'm satisfied about my personal performances, I'm a decent player with some experience.
This is NOT a thread to discuss my fitting preferences.

My Caldari suit has really crappy PG/CPU. Even with Electronics 5 and Engineering 4, I still run out of CPU.
To fit a Proto weapon, I have to give up my 4th Complex extender and the Enhanced one is... disappointing (33 HP instead of 66 is a big step behind).
What would you go for?

I've just stumbled into your thread and, while I haven't read the replies yet, I understand your frustration with these forums. My sympathies.
My thoughts - for me, I personally prefer defense over offense when possible. I believe staying alive longer suits my play better, and would go with the complex shield extender (especially if you have average to above gun game, as you will see less difference between the advanced and proto weapons).

No local reps on armor makes you easier to kill in the long run - not worth the extra initial buffer, especially if you have all 4 complex shield extenders.
Also, she already made the choice on the fit with only the last decision left to be made, so the suit seems to be what she wants it to be based on her gameplay (as she said in her edit of the OP). No reason to suggest a fitting that isn't her style. She should play how she is comfortable playing.
