Galm wanders into the cafe in his usual leisure clone, seeming even more emotionally detached than usual.
"I swear, this constant clone jumping is going to rot my brain. I... I should take a vacation. Yeah. A vacation. That sounds nice Galm. Maybe somewhere nice, like... Heh... Can't think of anywhere nice right now, but it has to be out there somewhere..."
He shakes his head clear for a moment as his glowing eyes ignite.
"I really need to stop talking to myself."
So Aria got herself a place of her own, eh? Good for her. I just hope they can deliver enough food. This body probably needs a good 5000 calories a day when it isn't hooked up to a clone vat.
He eyes the menu as he waits for someone to notice him.
What time is it on this planet anyway? You know what, it doesn't matter. It is breakfast time somewhere, and breakfast I shall have.

"Saisa, arvumaa," he beams in his native tongue.
His eyes swap to a cool blue as he struggles to recall all the Matari he had downloaded from language skillbooks. His words, while correct, sport an obvious accent that seems to only stick to someone who has spent a considerable amount of time in Pure Blind. He eyes over the menu, biting his lower lip.
"I will take... Hmm, let's see here... Ah!"
His eyes glow golden in a moment of inspiration.
"I would like some of your corn bread please, with a large glass of milk! I would also like two of your waffles, but... um..."
He seems slightly embarrassed to ask.
"Could you put a bacon, egg, and toast platter in between the two waffles? With rye toast and the eggs over easy? Kind of like a breakfast sandwich, but you know, mercenary sized."
He smiles, thinking of the weekend breakfasts he used to share with his old mentor.
"I would be willing to pay the price of both meals, and a bit extra for the trouble."

Galm smiles once again and thanks Aria for her kindness.
Several minutes later a lone Gallente clad in heavy dropsuit armor struts into the diner. Galm eyes him just quick enough to catch him spouting a rough snort. Galm fakes saluting the man, only to swap his hands and shoot him the bird at the last second. He was certain nothing would come of it. It was these small nonverbal salutations that made the mercenary world go round. It was, for lack of a better term, standard operating procedure.
Quote:Aztec strolls past the blue building. He sees a sign saying it's Matari. *haven't had actual MatarI cuisine in a long time* He strolls in, with a Minmatar jacket, neck scarf and dark Indigo Caldari pants. When he enters, he is automatically greeted with the enticing smell of fine cuisine. "Mmm..." Though, he quickly goes stoic at the sudden abrasive smell of smoke. He sees a customer smoking.
He strolls quickly to the other side of the eatery. He goes to a booth where a man, Galm, sits. "Do you mind if I sit here? I like to have company when I eat."
Gods and spirits, this guy...
He eyes Aztec up and down cynically for several moments. Seconds creep onward as he process the man in front of him.
"Sure, what the hell," Galm responds, rubbing his temples.
"Nice scarf by the way."

"Niina Eskola... Pardon me, for I must properly set the mood for this monologue."
He pulls out a pack of unfiltered menthols, lighting one and taking a drag before offering Aztec one.
"What can be said about Niina? She took me in during a pretty rough part of my life. Spirits, it was a rough time for the both of us. I left in a hurry and in doing so probably forfeited the best chance I ever had at recovering from this madness and living a normal life. Anyway, now she's gone about building up her father's corporation. She has a pretty nice gig going with Caldari Steel these days that keeps both of them in the black. Now that she has money though, things between us have gotten a bit complicated. She kind of... I don't know what she is to me. Imagine having a step sister with benefits."
He takes another drag.
"It's going to put me in an early grave. Figuratively."
He is still looking at Aztec with the exact same deadpan expression, leading anyone to assume that Galm has actually been completely genuine and serious since the moment Aztec walked in the front door. |

"Waffle sandwich made to your order. Cornbread and a large glass of milk." She places the plate in front of Galm, then his glass of milk and gives him a fork, knife and spoon. "There's some syrup in that silver syrup can next to you."
"Rikaato," Galm thanks cheerfully, wiring the due credits over his datapad. He reaches for his class of milk with one hand as he drizzles syrup over his sandwich with the other. He takes a long sip, sets both containers down, and wipes his lips contently. Eagerly he pulls his plate towards him and grabs hold of his silverware. Within seconds he has already taken at least six bites, literally shoving the food into his system. He pauses briefly to truly enjoy the flavor.
"When I was growing up, I would have this all the time!" he says through a mouth full of food, "My mentor and I would leave the hanger we worked in for an hour or two and go get breakfast at this nice little diner in the Legion HQ."
He reaches for a piece of corn bread and offers Aztec some. |

She then looks at Galm with wide eyes, staring into him, staring deep into him with her brown eyes. She then holds her stare at Galm, not even batting her eye, her mercenary and pirate instincts rising and tearing through her memory and skin. She then chuckles, chin up and eyes still wide open, focused, but clearly deranged, thirsty for no longer attention, but blood and pain for sadistic and rancor thoughts.
"Keep drinking that milk, boy. Or else your sides won't be the only thing hurting." She beacons towards Galm.
Saving her documents into her main computer, she slides the computer into her pocket.
"You seem to have a lot of pride in yourself to say things out loud." She slowly raises herself from the chair and walks over to Galm with calm slow steps. Her towering size of 7'6", nearly touching the ceiling as she looks down at the sitting Galm. She grins at him while crossing her thick muscular arms.
It's only at this distance that Galm realizes just how large the Matari is. Shoving one more bite of his waffles into his mouth, Galm sizes her up... All seven feet of her. In a combat zone he would have been roughly the same size, but at the time being his leisure clone stood a measly 5'9". Unshaken, Galm's young face curls into a smile as he lets out a single chuckle.
He'd fought mercs her size before under less favorable scenarios, and he was positive he had the technical advantage in a fist fight over what he imagined would be enraged brute force on her part. Still, there was no sense in causing a scene. A random Gallente customer attempts to defuse the situation, only for Maximia to completely ignore him and continue shooting death glances at Galm.
"Look, hey," Galm starts, his cybernetic eyes swapping to their standard golden glow, "Calm down arvumaa, you're getting yourself all flustered for no reason. You got shot down, so what. Templars are assholes anyway, you're probably better off without a slave driver like that. Unless you like that sort of thing. I'm not one to judge if you are into the whole leather and chains type of deal."
It dawns on Galm that he might have just made things worse.

She then stops listening to them and sighs, looking into blank space and relaxing a bit. he probably has a nice house....he really probably has one....Hrm....I got other people. She then sighs and interrupts their conversation, rubbing her eyes before she speaks, "I just wanted to say your arrogance and pride isn't simply 'done', it's 'proven'," She then looks down at Galm and makes a forgiving smirk, "I'm too busy to deal with people in a fist fight right now."
She then reaches into her pocket and pulls some isk out while pulling a hand out from his side or wherever it currently is.
"here," She plops a couple isk into his hand and walks away, "Have a drink on me."
She then walks over to her booth and takes a seat, sighing and opening her neocom to get Demel to come over. She signals the slightly shaking waitress for her food as she brings her plate with fearful hands.
Galm stares at the change laid out in his hand, thinking for a long moment. Her words run through his head again.
I just wanted to say your arrogance and pride isn't simply 'done', it's 'proven.'
Galm is deeply conflicted by this. Behind his eyes, his temporal lobes flare up in a spastic firing of diluted emotions and thoughts. He can feel every bit of rage and shame clawing at his face from inside of him, each emotion fighting to claim its rightful place as the one he acts upon.
You haven't gotten any better at all, have you? I'm just... I'm just... JUST A... WHAT AM I? It's just! So! Funny! So funny! It's her, not me! Arrogant! Prideful? We could gut her, you know we can! No... Please. Let's just finish breakfast. Niina w-- Niina Niina Niina! Why don't you shut up about her! There is a power in us! We don't need her Galm!
There felt like there were a thousand voices in his head and every one of them was a different side of himself. He keeps looking at the change in his hand, not moving an inch as his internal storm rages. Eventually one voice wins.
She forgave us.
Galm's hands tremble, sending the ISK spindling off his palms and onto the counter. The same voice utters a single sentence, this time out loud.
"I'm a bad person."
He hadn't changed at all since the Dragonaurs. He'd just had a slight shift in priorities. |

He sits up straight and looks him in the eyes.
"Yours." "No, no, no," Galm stammers quickly, lowering his head, "You don't get it, you couldn't get it."
Every emotion inside of him feels like thousands of needles pressing against his frontal lobe. To his credit Galm was doing a great job of holding back the tide. At least, compared to his past episodes.
"I should go. I need get far away from other people for a little while."
Dammit, I can't believe I let something so minor set me off.
His temporal lobes scream again, distorting his reality with a mixture of terror and devine meaning. Something deep in his mind was shouting, telling him that he was here for a reason. He just had to remember why.
Why?
It was a question without an answer. It was both meaningless, and all encompassing.
Why?
It was all he could think of.
Galm produces a small vial of liquid and shoots it back with vigor. Instantly, his breathing calms and he settles back into his seat. |

"Please. Galm. I'll be fine. When I'm gone, I'll find you again. One way or another, you're stuck with me. I think there is a beauty in that, don't you?"
He dwells on the memory, remembering what she had said.

Galm looks to Aria and Aztec before he says anything, then turns back to Doniken.
He shakes his head, apologetically.
"Sorry, I... No one should have to go through that. Losing loved ones is always hard, but right in front of you... Gods and spirits. It isn't every day you find someone who legitimately wants to help you in New Eden. I'm sorry I doubted your intent. We can talk later about this. It isn't really my choice to make at the moment."
Galm's augmented vision had already IDed Doniken and added him to his NeoComm contacts seamlessly. |

He puts the glass down and looks up at the lamp in the booth. "She might want just one, single, unique life. Are you sure you are ready to hear the truth?" "I already know the truth," Galm admits with a whisper.
Galm looks at his coffee.
"I think it is about time I took my leave everyone. I have a few contracts I need to attend to." |
