Note: where a rule references filing a support ticket, unless otherwise stated please file the ticket on the ESL website
Match Rules GÇóEach team may field 6 players at any one time GÇóMatches are played on a Domination map with lowered clone count (80 clones). GÇóIf a player drops while a match is in progress, another player from the roster is allowed to take their place. GÇóVehicles are prohibited. Use of installations (including turrets) is permitted. GÇóAll matches will appear under "Other Contracts" 10 minutes before scheduled start. You will be able to join the battle and be moved to the Warbarge five minutes before the scheduled starting time. There will be a five minute timer in the Warbarge once both teams have had at least one member join, at which point the match will commence. GÇóIf one team does not show up within five minutes of the scheduled start time, they will automatically forfeit the match and the team that did show will be granted an automatic win. GÇóThere are no restrictions on squad arrangements within a team (i.e. you do not need all team members to be in a single squad). GÇóThere are no restrictions on infantry items permitted.
Rosters GÇóPlayers may not join more than one team. GÇóTeams should register their rosters on the ESL website. GÇóMaximum Roster size is 10 characters. This includes any alternate characters used by the same player. GÇóMembers of a team are not required to be in the same corporation or alliance. GÇóCorporations and alliances are not restricted to a single team containing their members. GÇóOnce your team has been submitted and accepted, you are unable to change the roster. If you wish to change the roster before the signups are closed, please file a support ticket. Rosters cannot be changed once team registration has closed.
Prizes GÇóPrizes will be awarded separately for each division GÇóPrizes are as follows: GÇó15 Officer weapons of choice, 30 Quafe Scout dropsuits, 15 mil ISK each GÇó10 Officer weapons of choice, 20 Quafe Scout dropsuits, 10 mil ISK each GÇó5 Officer weapons of choice, 10 Quafe Scout dropsuits, 5 mil ISK each GÇóEach prize will be directly delivered to each team memberGÇÖs inventory. Prizes cannot be redeemed on a character not on the roster, and each character may only receive one prize. GÇóA prize for third place will only be offered if a division contains more than eight teams. GÇóPlayers may only choose a single type of officer weapon for their prize GÇóValid officer weapon choices: oBalac's GAR-21 Assault Rifle oKrin's SIN-11 Assault Rifle oCala's MIK-33 Submachine Gun oBalac's MRN-30 Submachine Gun oGastun's BRN-50 Forge Gun oThale's TAR-07 Sniper Rifle oBalac's N-17 Sniper Rifle oBalac's PCP-30 Scrambler Pistol oGastun's MIN-7 HMG
Format GÇóThe Tournament will be run in three separate divisions based on three rough geographical areas: Americas, Europe and Asia/Pacific GÇóEach division of the tournament will consist of a single elimination format with 3, 4, or 5 rounds depending on team count. This will be finalized for each division after team registration has been closed and schedules are posted. GÇóAny player is eligible to compete in any one region. Region will only dictate on what servers the matches will be held. Players are responsible for picking the best division for their geographical location. GÇóEach round will consist of a best of one, except for the finals which will consist of a best of three. GÇóTeams will be initially randomly seeded. GÇóResults should be reported by both teams on the ESL website. If your opponent does not show or does not submit a result within 15 minutes of the end of the match, please file a support ticket.
Schedule GÇóWhile finalized schedules will not be posted until team registration has closed, the tentative schedule is as follows:
EU - UTC
Saturday, 2nd of November Round 1: 19:00 Round 2: 20:00 Round 3: 21:00
Sunday, 3rd of November Round 4: 19:00 Round 5: 20:00
NA - EDT (UTC-4)
Saturday, 2nd of November Round 1: 19:00 (23:00 UTC) Round 2: 20:00 (00:00 UTC) Round 3: 21:00 (01:00 UTC)
Sunday, 3rd of November Round 4: 19:00 (23:00 UTC) Round 5: 20:00 (00:00 UTC)
ASIA/PACIFIC - UTC+8
Saturday, 2nd of November Round 1: 20:00 (12:00 UTC) Round 2: 21:00 (13:00 UTC) Round 3: 22:00 (14:00 UTC)
Sunday, 3rd of November Round 4: 20:00 (12:00 UTC) Round 5: 21:00 (13:00 UTC)
GÇóThe schedule will be reduced as required if team count is below 16 teams. GÇóIf team count is not even, this may result in a team having a bye. This will be indicated on the schedule as such and in this instance the team with a bye is not required to show as required under the Match Rules.
Maps GÇóMaps will be predetermined and posted with the full schedule. GÇóMap terrain, layouts and boundaries will be drawn from standard Domination pools. GÇóSockets on some maps will be changed from standard for tournament play. Full details will be provided in the schedule. GÇóTest matches to allow the teams to familiarize themselves with the custom socket sets will be provided on the 26th and 27th of October. Further details will be posted closer to this date.
Disciplinary GÇóBreach of these rules may result in immediate disqualification from the tournament, or removal of specific members from team rosters. Teams will not be eligible to nominate alternate replacements in this instance. GÇóAll decisions by ESL and CCP are final.
Please keep all discussion in this thread related to queries and requests for clarifications for the rules. For general tournament discussion, please post in the announcement thread. CCP Logibro // EVE Universe Community Team // Distributor of Nanites // Patron Saint of Logistics

No vehicles. That includes as you described, people using dropships to take rooftops. And this we can very easily see if we look at the logs.

#Infantry514 Imagine Bridge map domination with 3 tankers 3 infantry against 6 infantry- the tankers could spam tanks and the 6 infantry squad would need at least 3 proto AVers, leaving a 3man squad to fight the other 3 infantry &3 tanks. Tanks would ruin it.

Ehm Balac's Sniper Rifle was a closed beta tournament reward only, which means I very much doubt that you have any.
Also it has the same RPM as the Thale's, does 100 less damage while getting 2 shots extra in a clip. So no, it's not better than the Thale's. |

All of them. You would pick a single type of officer weapon, and you would receive 15 of that particular officer weapon in addition to the dropsuits and the ISK. Yes, everyone gets their own choice. But each member can only choose one type. (so they get 15x Balac's ARs, not 5 Balac's ARs and 10x Thale's Sniper)
And yes, it seems the list I pulled them from was lying to me - they are Wolfman's. I'll fix that. CCP Logibro // EVE Universe Community Team // Distributor of Nanites // Patron Saint of Logistics

I'm going to snipe so hard and then im going to make the trek and teabag to body. I might even implement my new tactic that's in its conceptual prototype phase. I call it Alice teabag. Vehicles in a 6v6 would be way too strong. You'd end up with tanks/logi LAVs and whoever got up high with a dropship would be almost impossible to remove.
Vehicles are great in large formats, but this is aimed at small groups of people who would otherwise be left out of larger formats. There were a lot of teams who signed up for the UF tournament for the 24(?) hours that people thought it was 8v8, so there's obviously plenty of teams interested in taking part in tournaments this size. It's worth noting that if the squad cups prove popular, that the chances of more larger scale tournaments will go up. |

GÇó 15 Officer weapons of choice, 30 Quafe Scout dropsuits, 15 mil ISK each GÇó 10 Officer weapons of choice, 20 Quafe Scout dropsuits, 10 mil ISK each GÇó 5 Officer weapons of choice, 10 Quafe Scout dropsuits, 5 mil ISK each
are you saying 5 Officer weapons of choice, 10 Quafe Scout dropsuits, 5 mil ISK each for the first round
10 Officer weapons of choice, 20 Quafe Scout dropsuits, 10 mil ISK each for semi finals
and 15 Officer weapons of choice, 30 Quafe Scout dropsuits, 15 mil ISK each for Finals
Also even more importantly Why only 32 squads.

This particular cup is infantry themed for small teams, basically the opposite to the prime league which was 16v16
Just because this cup doesn't allow vehicles doesn't mean that there won't be a vehicle themed cup in the future. |

claims that there is both a quafe G-1 and a quafe gk.0 suit. Please explicitly state which type for the reward. One would presume gk.0, but its always nice to see it stated clearly.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, i wasn't aware that there was a standard tier quafe suit
I'm certain it's the gk.0 but to be super safe I will double check with Logibronext time i chat with him and we will update the thread about it
I will also enquire about the server location for the asia/pacific cup |

Oh god we can have the vehicle specialists acctually veing competative or utalising team work. Jist not on. This particular cup is infantry themed for small teams, basically the opposite to the prime league which was 16v16 Just because this cup doesn't allow vehicles doesn't mean that there won't be a vehicle themed cup in the future.
Plainly thus event is simoly aimed at the 6v6 cod boy ar rambos. Of course a 6 man squad consisting of 1 llav +driver , 1 tank and 4 infantry would mash a 6 man ar squad. It is here to "appease" the large amount of people who signed up to the UF tourney when it was 8v8 domination, before it was changed back to 16v16
It is clear that you want a vehicle themed cup, this will come in the future but please understand the "future" does not mean "this cup" |

Signup links are now live and will open 15 mins from this post and end on downtime, 24th of october (There are 3 links to the 3 cups, make sure you sign up to the correct one!)
You may notice that one of the requirements to be eligible to signup is having skype contact details, this can be added onto your profile by hovering over your name in the top left of your page and choosing edit profile. Having skype contacts for the team allows myself and Logibro to get in touch easily during the cup.
You may all notice that the site has placed the cups on the "8on8" URL and also added "8on8" to the cup names, this is due to the 6on6 navnode not behaving itself and i advise you to ignore any references to "8on8" or "8v8", this cup is still 6 vs 6 |

The way I understand it is that the battle will appear in other contracts under the battle finder for registered people only, so no one who is not registered can join (weather some one pulls in an unregistered or not is another matter) so say for example my corp has a team in it will be open to the guys who have registered on ESL but the rest of our corp wont be able to join. |

Salvage, yes Isk, no Eh, so if playing 5 rounds, dying on average 10 times each match in a 200k suit means you will spend about 10 million ISK on the tourney. The winner gets 15 million ISK, which would only mean a 5 million ISK reward as you spent the other 10 on the tourney.
What salvage system will be used though? The system used in pubs, or the one used in PC? If it's the system used in PC it might reduce the ISK loss in the matches a fair bit, but you'll still lose a good amount of ISK on the tourney.
Personally I couldn't care less about ISK, but to me it just isn't right that a tourney winner walks away with such a small amount.
About the prizes in general, I still think they're very lackluster and they're certainly not a reason for why I'm participating in the tourney. I know you guys keep saying that it's a small tourney and that there will be bigger tourneys with bigger prizes in the futture, but this is a tourney after all and I just feel that there should be prizes to follow a proper tourney.
Personally I think the rewards should be more like: 50 copies of 1 officer weapon of choice OR 15 copies of 3 officer weapons of choice. 50 or 100 million ISK. 30 Quafe suits (as it already is. I feel this one is probably fine, maybe an increase to 50 suits wouldn't hurt though).
These prizes would be more worthwhile and actually fitting for even a winner of a small tourney.
All of this is just my own opinion of course. |

Clarification please Tech or Logi.
The CSL website says 8v8 cup, but Logi's original post says you may field 6 at any one time.
Which is it? 8v8 or 6v6?
Cheers. |

Salvage is the same as PC matches, so based upon items that drop.

As the matches are not PC or FW, Eve players will not be able to connect to the district

As we got bumped to the 2nd round at 20:00 UTC our team Tech Guard Alpha ( i assume ) will only start playing on Impact Ridge, correct? And as a sidenote, on the ESL website my first match shows as 21:00 (ESL is wrong?)

Shows 20:00 for me, is your site clock (top right) displaying GMT?
If you click on the clock to change timezone, then find "Atlantic/Reykjavik", it will show the times in UTC

Yes, you will start on Impact Ridge.
Time on the ESL site for me is showing 20:00. You might want to check your time zone settings on the site.

Thank you! That did the trick, but i did enter my location as Portugal on my profile so i assumed the clock would be correct and adjusted because of that, alas it wasnt, for some reason it was in Europe/Berlin.

As a matter of fact I have 25 of those bad boys. From the first tournament where imperfects and SI were the final two. It cam with a whole complement of Balachs gear - rifles, SMG, dropsuits, sniper rifles, etc. |

Looks like Oceania players get thrown under the bus again. Had our first match and my squad was lagging like it was an EU server. Rubber banding and the hit detection went out the window. Trying to compete like that is bullshit. I understand that an Oceania only tournament would have like 2 teams but if you're going to put us with Asia at least make it an Asian server. |

All the Asia/Pacific matches are being run on the Asia servers. However some ISPs route packets to Asia via the US, so that might be why you have a higher ping.

That's what I expected but I get far less lag in Asia pubs and PC than I did in that match. When you put half a Duvolle clip into a guy that has not even 50 armour left and he takes no damage, kills you with 2 shots when you have full armour then takes your mate another half a Duvolle clip to kill 50 bloody armour something isn't right.
I'd like to see some more love from CCP for Oceania. Everyone already uses our server to test or go AFK on, forcing us to fight through lag on another server if we want a good game and I'm extremely disappointed we weren't provided a fair shot at an official tournament.
Regardless, I don't want to take away from Die Valkyrja's victory. Hats off and good luck to 'em. |

the 5min rule is 5 minutes after the scheduled start time (so xx:05), not 5 minutes after the warbarge opens (which is 10 minutes before scheduled start time).
