So, I was thinking. What if you gained loyalty points from winning in FW?

Shut up, I'm not done yet.
What if the points you earned gave you a loyalty "rating" that you could use to purchase equipment at a DISCOUNT.
This means that losing a FW battle would have more implications than just losing the suits. You would lose ISK in the long run as you would lose the discount's. It also means that when fighting for your faction, you would be better off using that factions gear, as you would lose less money when dying in it.
So, Turn on Friendly Fire in FW, give us some loyalty points, and let us purchase Faction Equipment at a Discount, or purchase special Faction ONLY Equipment in the Loyalty Store. Weapons and modules only available to that Factions members.
Anyone else have some cool ideas? |

Clever!
So ... Would working for one faction/sovereignty anger an opposing faction/sovereignty? If happy sellers offer discounts, would angry sellers increase prices?
^ I ask b/c corpmates with different gear preferences may be disinclined to fight together (not good).

Actually, yes. Here is why.
To create a dynamic game.
While it might make some items more expensive, it also makes some items cheaper. The delta would still stay roughly even, but would BENEFIT people who go purist. If you find that you use alot of Amarr weapons, go help them out. You only use Minmatar grenades anyways, and a 10% markup on that would be worth the 10% discount to your suit, pistol, and rifle.
Also, you can only get the Faction Specific items if you have that Faction as your most loyal (You can't be buddy buddy with the Amarr and Minmatar and get Special Items from both), but you can still gain a minor discount from your other Faction.
Think of it this way.
Let's say that you play for the Minmatar a lot, and that you also play for the gallente a bit. You also manage to keep the Caldari indifferent (this involves playing against the Minmatar or Gallente on some points, but you are still playing enough rounds for the Caldari that it makes up for the difference). However, you never play for the Amarr, and you are Hated by them. You get a significant markup against them.
Here are the Loyalty Rankings.
#1 spot is considered "Loyal". You gain a significant discount AND access to Faction Specific Items. -10% #2 spot is considered "Friendly". You gain a minor discount. -5% #3 spot is considered "Indifferent". No net gain or loss. #4 spot is considered "Hostile". You gain a minor markup. +5% #5 spot is considered "Hated:. You gain a significant Markup. +10%
Seem good?

The problem with discounts is that there is going to be a merger between the EVE and Dust514 economies where EVE players manufacture products and Dust514 players consumes said product. The only gear available from the NPC market will be militia gear. And militia gear is so cheep a discount wouldn't be warranted.
How about higher isk payouts and gear rewards instead? |

How about "Loyalty Points" that can be spent on either Lump Sums of ISK or for Buying Packs of Gear from the store.
It would be the same thing, except this way, you can choose how to spend the reward. Get alot of money, or buy Faction Exclusive gear.
If you haven't noticed, I really like the idea of Faction Exclusive gear. |

discounts will be cool. How about if your character is gallente and you fight for your race using gallente dropsuits, you get "something" anything. Right now I'm Amarr using gallente dropsuits.
I think it will make sense to get a bonus for using your races's weapons, dropsuits, and equipment. |
