Welcome to the team Rouge!
Few Tips/Questions:
Don't Rock the Boat too hard! This game has been picking up speed over the last few months, going over recent changes in another rework could potentially be the last straw for a lot of players.
How do you intend to Break the Cycle? No offence to the shanghai team, but often we end up going round in circles, weapons get buffed, nerfed, mechanics changed nerfed, buffed, neferd. How are you gonna insure this doesn't happen?
And Finally. Without using corporate jargon, or marketing spiel! Where do you see this game in the next. . . . .

I don't know about everyone else, but for me this news came just in time. I have been a huge fanboy of CCP for over 7 years, and a huge fanboy of Dust before I even got into the closed beta. I have always tried to find the best in the game, and always give CCP the benefit of the doubt. Recently however, my patience has been running a little thin.
Welcome CCP Rouge, lets see if you can restore my faith in this game. |

Welcome! I'm glad your vision lines up with my own
Quote:"This is where DUST 514 differentiates itself completely from all other shooters and is why I love the game. Features such as player trade, valuable resources transferable and useable between DUST and EVE, and new game modes that capture the sandbox nature of our game, are all building blocks towards that vision."
Everyone one of the things that sets Dust 514 apart from other shooter is currently not part of dust is what you are saying. *and good thing because it's true* And it fills me with hope to see you acknowledge this. |

Maybe it's just me, but the whole tone of this blog just kinda irked me. Like, it seemed to effectively be saying, "Dust 514 is a great game, as we all know, and I'm here to make it even better!" When it should really be something like, "I know Dust 514 has sort of declined in quality as of late, but I'm here to get things back on track, get us back to the original design, and make this game as fun as possible." Parts of it just felt (to me at least) like bragging about a game that very clearly has absolutely no bragging rights. But, maybe that's just the sort of corporate common courtesy that's expected in this type of introduction. |

Post 14 actually made me cry. I've been in a company that shut down from Operations manager all the way to the lowly temp. Me stepping away from Dust514 is like telling a drug addict friend you can no longer have anything to do with him (i.e. my image of who you are and what you are capable of is delusional, your off doing your own thing yet keep wanting my money, I have countless other ways to enjoy my time without you).
There are other free to play games on the PS Vita and even if there were only 100 people playing you'd still be having fun. MMO F2P is an oxymoron anyway really. I don't think we need to make it too much of a concern what their income is; we aren't their personal team of accountants!
Welcome to the team CCP Rouge. I hope the other staff members are quick to make all the success of your new visions for Dust514 a reality! |

So...
I mean my opinion may not mean anything here...
-But my first priority would be to fix what content you have, before you start adding more content. All crashes/glitchs ironed out. So that I would have a solid foundation to work from. ( Would probably help keep most of your tenure players) -Second would be adding a public test server so that we would have a better chance of adding feedback before patches launch, so the base game itself stays in bliss. -Third, I would produce the PVE portion of the game. Fourth, Improve the Eve/Dust link, in both pve and pvp terms. Fifth, Open the market. Lastly, commit suicide for thinking the plan to save the game would work.
