It seems like I hear a lot of people brag about how easily they kill heavies. What I DON'T hear are many heavies bragging about how hard it is to kill them, nor do I often hear people struggling against heavies. They still occasionally get called out in my squad chats, as in "there's a heavy on objective B" but it never seems to be a big deal.
In your opinion, is this a balancing issue? If there is an issue, is it with the dropsuit, or maybe one of the heavy weapons?
Personally, I think the forge gun is doing just fine, but as a pretty well spec'ed up HMG player, I may have lost some perspective on my own weapon. |

While I don't play heavy enough to have a strong opinion, I think they're balance is in the 'acceptable' range. When playing as a logi, I most often lose to them one on one. When playing as a heavy, I usually win one on ones, and am occasionally able to wade into a group of reds and take more than one out before they take me out.
I've seen discussions about HMGs performing poorly compared to SMGs and ARs, and I won't dispute that there could be improvement, but since the turn speed was uncapped, I feel pretty functional running a Sentinel+HMG.
Assault Forge Guns from a high vantage are fairly god mode. Regular Forge, and/or any Forge without the high-ground advantage, are pretty meh...probably as they should be, given their AV+anti-infantry capability. |

Assault on your standard heavy is situational if the ar assault has the range he can win if you come upon the heavy is closer quarters there is a greater chance the heavy will win. Personally though I think all balance issues need to be put aside until we get more of the full game content wise. A good start for the heavies out there would be to give them a longer range option other than the damn forge gun.. Where is that heavy laser CCP!? |

Nothing is wrong with the heavy. There is only one flaw so far;
There is no medium range weapon for a heavy. If they use an AR they will lose the benefit of heavy guns. They are only truly dangerous for short range but with their lack of mobility and short reach you can pepper them very easily.

As a logi I lol when I see a HMG heavy. Yesterday I saw a heavy 40m out and I just stood still and jumped so he knew I saw him, he then opened fire and I lold as it did almost no damage, finally I pull out my M209 SMG and mow him down. |

HMG in anything but CQC and medium range is more of a handicap than an advantage, with that said, tight areas and zones with cover can make HMGs very effective. Honestly if I were to make any change to the suit itself I'd say reduce the slow penalty or perhaps allow ONLY heavies to completely ignore speed penalties imposed on armor plates. |

Use to run a heavy and its been a month since I touched my HMG. I use the heavy suit on occasion as a sniper fit for s*** and giggles. I now run a Gallente assault and I win most 1 vs.1 against heavies. Its sad really, to think I am am an assault with mid level armor owning a heavily fortified heavily armed individual and I can take them down by myself. It may cost me my life on the occasion but I look at it as 1 for 1 and I will take that any day of the week. The heavy as is, is a joke and until CCP fixes its role I am going to keep running assault. I would love to run my heavy again, I have proto FG and HMG that are rusting and collecting dust, this is just sad |

You have proto setup for heavy including FMG and FG and you switch to assault? Not every game goes great for me but in militia bps with an ADV HMG and FG I usually have no problem doing 3:1 kdr or higher. However I will say that the amount of thought in timing, positioning, and initiating combat as a heavy seems to be significantly more to enable success with a heavy as compared to using other suits. |

The problem with heavies is their niche is too small, theyre good in cqc when not outnumbered yes, in their niche, but outside the niche they get r@ped 24/7 no contest. CCP needs to stop balancing things as "good in niche,garbage outside of niche" and start balancing as "great in niche, meh outside of niche". In other words you shouldn't get guaranteed r@ped for taking on an AR outside of ur range, you should just have a substantial disadvantage, Thats why heavies get r@ped, the niche of being not outnumbered and is rare and they get hard r@ped the rest of the time. |

They seem just fine to me, heh. The only time I lose "easily" off the top of my head is against proto gear, which I lack. |

The real problem here is that people don't know how to use them properly. very rarely will I die more than 5 times in a match. I don't always get buttloads of kills but I normally have about 25 assists or so. |
