CC announced a few months ago they were not going to do anymore skill resets but what if they gave us the option to do our own skill resets i have thought of 2 ways this can happen tell me what you think
1 a skill reset button every 6 months we are allowed 1 skill reset on dust for free if withinthe 6 months we decide we want to do it again we can with a prices of say 10k AUR this stop people resetting after every match free skill resets do not stack up either so if you spent say 2 years without a respec you dont get 4 you still only have 1
2 this idea doesnt involve a total respec but i think it may work you can unlearn skilled you speced into but for a penalty of only gaining back half the skill spec you used to learn it for example weapon operation lvl 3 cost 400k sp to unlearn the level 3 taking it back to lvl 2 you only gain 200k sp back
please post below what you think |

I think CCP should do another character wipe so people can finally STFU about respecs. Unlike other games where there's a finite amount of x character building mechanic increments or a level cap, SP in Dust doesn't have a lifetime cap. You can literally max out everything in the game- of course it'll take a while, but you can still do it. The only real reason why I see people crying for respecs are FotM jumpers or someone too lazy to skill up in something while learning how to use it. Which one are you?
Note: The only time respecs should be issued out are when full skill trees are reworked or during a major build change. Any and all changes not on the same scale can be resolved through SP refunds on those isolated changes. |

I'm really not looking for the SP to be reset, but I would like to be able to rename my character or change my character's faction at some point in time. When you first start playing the game you really have no idea what choices you are making unless you are already an eve online player. FW seems to be becoming more important as the game progresses and I feel picking the right faction is more important now than it was 6 months ago. |

For the sake of NPE, there should be more info on the character creation screen in regards to each race's battle philosophy, tanking style, and the types gear they use. It would give them an idea on what to skill into or what they would want to play as from a RP standpoint. Anyone from the point that this gets implemented should at least get the choice to change their race and/or bloodline. |

With all the Vehicle changes that are going to be made I think a respec would be great after they are implemented same thing with the addition of suits.
I like the First idea, though it should only be usable if you are under 20mil sp |

Re spec is highly needed, CCP now finally throws in a proper tutorial explaining the game but it still lacks in Race/Bloodline explanation ( which to this day i still dont understand it ) and they do not let you use certain weapon to see how they work.... if they dont want to throw in Militia grade Nova Knives, Scrambler Rifles, Plasma Cannons, Flaylock pistols etc etc etc atleast throw in a Shooting range or something so you can see them and how they work because alot of newbies enter in thinking Nova Knives are beasts and then they burn SP into getting them also the Plasma cannon LOOKS very enticing but then it isnt their cup of tea and remaking tons of new characters waiting 10 hours to check each weapon is completely brutal, demotivating and a chore to be able to see the weapons.
Respec is needed somewhere along some line wether it be a item gifted from graduation ( one time deal item used whenever you so desire ) or once you hit a specific amount of Total SP or even if it cost 5 USD it should be put available because it only backtracks and makes players quit because starting a new in Dust isnt only skill its about Time spent playing |

There's a big difference between "reset" and "re-spec".
An SP reset is when your SP is reset to 500k SP, the beginner SP value. No one wants this. Please stop un-intentionally asking for this.
An SP reset is when you get to reallocate all your SP. This is generally viewed as a bad thing because it would incourage the use of FOTM(fit of the month) and game diversity would die. The only time CCP will give out SP re-specs is when they make changes to the skill trees. |

Giving another respec would not cause the respec QQ squad to shut up. Just the opposite it would increase the calls for respecs. Its like terrorists, or pirates, you give them what they want and they do something nasty again since they have evidence that their tactics will make you comply with their demands. CCP should never give in to the QQ train or it will only get worse. |

Hey there Cosgar, long time no see! :D
I'd like to point out that by making a minor change, they completely screw over a certain class or role. I have many many friends that just completely quit the game because aim assist completely f***ed over the Scout. So did hit detection, the lack of stealth capabilities, and everything else.
Now, I'll admit, many many many of the people I know are FoTM [people], and I almost re-think respecs when I think about such people. But I really honestly (Preparing for hate-storm...), think that respecs need to be a think for not EVERY patch, but at least make it so every X amount of months gives you a respec, so people that legitimately messed up their skills can get a second chance.
Or, AT LEAST put out a respec on the patch that the racial suits get completed. Know what I was told when I said they needed to get those racial suits out and put out another respec?

Can no one live with what they have, and live with what they want at standard?
One week of not playing, bingo go from level 2 to 3.
It really doesn't take that long to skill into a reasonable level. |

I can live with what I have but I'd live happier if I could switch my faction. Haven't you ever just wanted to move? Or changed your mind and voted for the other political party? It's just that I feel a little more at home in the Minmatar quarters. I'm saying I'd like to be able to switch out to Minmatar if it pleases me. Just transport my guy into his new quarters and send him a few new pairs of clean Minmatar underwear, I'll take care of the rest.
I'm not willing to do another 6 months of grinding sp to get where I am now, to have to do that would probably ruin the game for me.
ps.. I'm not actually asking for a skill point respec. I'm sure I'll eventually use whatever I've got my skills put into even if I'm not using them now. I knew I was possibly squirreling them away for later when I decided to try out whatever new weapon. |

Jesus fing Christ, I can't even keep up with these respec threads, glad my fellow Logibro Cosgar's around to spread some wisdom!
If you care about the noobs so much, then just ask for respecs for noobs when they hit 5 mil SP or whatever, otherwise myself and others will continue to say no more respecs until all the racial suits/weapons are out, because that just makes sense. |

At the release of uprising it took basic suits to be to level 5 in order to skill into Role specific suits. I skilled two medium suits up to five to have access to my sever and raven suits. Never got the respec for that. 1.8 million sp on nothing. I think respec should be handled on a case by case basis.. Only grant respec to people that have a legitimate reason.. After that NOOOOO!!!! |
