So waiting for my fellow rainbows to finish up yet another pubstomp I went and checked out the various pre fitted and other aurum packs. And what a load of BS they are. Who the hell would ever want a 100 pieces of a module that boosts melee damage by 15%?
They're all terribly bad just like all the starter fits are. "Check out which assault suit you like best!" - How the hell is that possibru by using 4 different basic suits without any suit or racial bonus? Its pointless as a way to decide which suit you'd like best 2.8 million SP later....
So an idea started to form, we should present actual fittings used by actual players. Like for example:
"13ears Asault mayhem"
"The Dark Clouds rooftop dominance"
"Taz's tank buster"
-You get the idea.
I'll give an example of my ECO PUB fit:
Caldari logi suit, enhanced 3 proto shield extenders 2 basic armor plates GEK M1 Locus nades 2 kompact nanohives 1 enhanced scanner.
About 740 HP with spare ammo/armor regen and a pretty neat scanner, all with decent weaponry. A suit that most players would deem OK, especially given its 50-60 K isk price tag.
These fittings should definately not require any SP to use, nor the correct level of core upgrades and weapon skills in relation to having enough PG and CPU. So I'll reccomend sticking strictly with enhanced gear with the exception of shield and armor modules. The point being to bridge the HP gap as much as possible. And these being pre-fits made by veteran players, they should be made unchangeable as a trade off for not needing the same amount of core skills/weapon uppgrades to actually have room to fit them like they are.
TDLR: The whole point is to give new players supporting the game with AUR the chance to use actual fittings from experienced players, not the silly fittings CCP is makeing....
Not related but cool, my montage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrLO3Ijedgo |

Perhaps then more people will realize its more about the man behind the suit rather than this moronic idea many have that proto gear + Sill points = beast players.
I doubt many would do as good as he does on average by merely having the same fitting. |

Making your own Fits is part of the game, if you using someone else Fit you don't playing the game correctly.

None of those use Cal logi as far as I know. Merely put here as examples of good players I know with way different playstyles than me. Taz is a very good AV player, he's all over the map. The Dark Cloud is one of the best campers or "area denial" players I know of. |

Last PC i saw taz use that same setup with bunny hopping included, same with cloud except he was on a tower
Can really do that on any of the new maps/sockets so any tower camping fits is invalid

This is not meant for veteran players like us.
Well if you're a noob with no idea at all, why not try some various "high profile player" fittings before spending your skillpoints?

When I go tryhard in pub matches, for Minassault:
1x cmplx dmg mod 2x enh shield extend
Gek38 M152A SMG (the advanced one, name may be wrong) M1 Locus
1x enh armor 1x enh cpu upgrad
Equip tends to revolve around what my squad is MISSING.
Generally either run basic scanner for ambush or K2 Hives for skirm
Granted I'm also lvl 4 on core electronics and eng, but even if you run the lower stuff, I still like the balance of this build. You can swap out a shield ext for a dmg mod if you need it. I switched once AR prof hit 5.
If you need to save CPU/PG I've found sacrificing the m152A for the Toxin SMG is the best move. If you need more, I tend to put locus grenades instead of M1, though that is a personal preference as the locus seem to hit about as much as M1 for me. Of note, I tend to play very aggressive with this build. It runs about 35K isk a pop, but my worst matches tend to be around 20-8 in skirmish and 12-2 or 3 in Ambush. The build definitely reflects my play style. |

And somehow, this message needs to be communicated to new player. That is the real duty of the NPE/Tutorial/Walkthrough.
Personally I believe a walkthrough is required to communicate this message so a merc knows it in his belly, otoh, i'd be perfectly happy if CCP could prove me wrong and do it with their objective-based approach.
I would love if some of the elite crews would roll militia toons, train no skills, use only starter fits and run some pubs and record the results. It would provide a beacon of hope for new players and maybe serve to prevent some misdirected rage, partially generated by peeps on the forums incorrectly pointing the finger at the sp gap/gear gap. |

Um, it's not "gaming the system". Did you even pay attention to their E3 marketing push? There are no restrictions to what you are allowed to fit. There are no strict racial fitting guidelines that need to be followed. If there were, CCP would have designed the game to be that way. |

Its a dual tanked cal logi with hybrid hives, to be clear.
And its a brilliant combo that gives a lot of tank and the ability to get it back at a rapid rate, the armor at least, when you're in a pinch.
The cal logi users I've spoken to lately all use from 2 basic armor plates up to even 3 enhanced ones for the proto suit... |

Can you post one with max EHP? Meaning you're allowed to use proto shield and armor modules, and the rest at max enhanced level, depending on what you'll be able to fit. Make it fill out as much CPU/PG as you can. And what would the total HP become? |

Thing is most of us protobears have the core upgrades to maximise and fit our suits, compared to no skill versions fits, our real fits would be far better, and far different.
For example i have core upgrades lvl 3, dropsuit elect. 4 &pg upgrade 3 right now, letting me fit 4cmplx shld ext., 1 basic shld ext, 4 enhanced armor plates, duvolle, and STD nanohives on my callogi for 521 shield, 561 armor, but if i had no skills id have to use pg expansion & cpu upgrade modules simply to get a lot of shield and still have a duvolle, which would end up letting me fit good nades & hives as well, so the entire theme of my fitting would change from max hybrid tank to shield tank with equipment, simply out of necessity created by no skills.
Thats just an examplethere are more scenarios like that, like fitting 3 damage mods BECAUSE you also have prof 5 on ur wep, but without the prof skills you wouldn't see the fits true potential, so the entire point of fitting the dmg was a bit obscured. |

I see two ideas being discussed here:
1. AUR suits with player designed fittings that don't suck.
2. AUR suits with fittings based on top skilled/ranked players.
The problem with #2 is that probably means proto suits with advanced or better modules. I'd be much more into this if we are talking standard to advanced level suits and modules only. |

1x Nanohive 1x Nanite Injector 1x Compact Hive
2x Enhanced Armour plates
Now the ONLY problem with this suit is that unless you have Minamatar logistic skill up you have no armor repair... So would have to build that in somehow. BUT you will still have 550hp with a GEK that hits like a truck.
With regards to the MAX HP suit request KingB, ill have to give it a play tonight and see what i can come up with! |
