It is just as big of an assist to cover a logi from attackers while hacking as to be on the terminal with them and this should be rewarded.

Theres alot of potential for serious farming at that much. A squad COULD pull 350 points with one hack at that (100 for hack / 50 for assist / 4 members times 25 )
Now that I think about it maybe it should be like a permanent team wide defend order while a hack is in process.
60 for kill / 30 assist / etc...

You can already do that. Put a defend order up. 
As for farming, I don't think 190 (100 + 50 + 40) to 250 (100 + 50 + 100) is a big deal. Oh, boy, a whopping additional 2.5% of an orbital strike for almost an entire squad capturing and holding a KEY OBJECTIVE.  Seriously. All you need to do is capture 40 objectives to get an additional Orbital Strike. I'm sure the other team will let you do that to farm WP. 
You'll have won the game long before you've gained an additional OS from the bonus 60 points. Or any significant SP. |

No. You shouldn't get points just for being near an objective being hacked - you should get some extra points for WP gained in the area, like by getting kills, assists, revives, etc. |

Actually that's 10%....
And yes it's farming potential. Just flip it back and forth, while rotating around the objectives on skirmish. I like the OP's second idea, where it becomes a team-wide defend order. |

Its true, the defend order type option is far better in retrospect but hey this title gets more attention.
