WELL, let's recount the history of the great deserts...
First, we have this: Arteum's story
I'll get right on that soon... (I'll edit this post later, as I have another story to write)

Galrick M'kron wrote:Sorry for missing it. Well, I think you can piece the Collective's history out of the RPG thread, but tl;dr: A corporation from the precursor race's (can't remember their name) time created them as an experiment. They've mostly kept to themselves for the larger part of history, developing technology. As for mannerisms, they vary from AI to AI, but most units tend towards an analytical mindset. Also, they're horrible at social interaction with other species, coming across as cold, unsympathetic and misanthropic. The only named unit so far is the Engineer. He has a bit more social skill than average for a member of the Collective, and can interpret the tone of voice and body language of those he speaks to, to a limited degree. All in all, he's just socially awkward instead of misanthropic. Fascinated by new technology he encounters. Careful, but at times, indecisive or cowardly. And needless to say, he has the skills you'd expect an electrical/mechanical engineer to have.
The Dorans. I'll get a basic historic outline of some of the peoples throughout the mythos. |

If we're doing the founding of Diyad I doubt any of our current characters (except for maybe a beta test of the Engineer or High school Sandromin) will even have been born yet. Either way, I'm going to have to shake out of my funk and contribute a whole lot more, especially since Thanatos (the character) has already stated that the Diyadians descended from Venezzians. First I need to know from Sandromin how long the Second Era actually lasted, since Diyad began in the Second Era. Since I'm dealing with Diyad's conception I need my Venezzian Explorers. So I'd need to know important Venezzian leaders, figures, celebrities and technology at that time. I'd imagine that the founder of Diyad had to be affiliated with important Venezzian peoples.
The Second Era was a blighted one. Nobody know exactly how long it lasted. Some scholars argue over the endpoint, but almost none contest the Great Firestorm started it. However, a majority of scholars define the end as what is called as the Blue Decade; in ten years, many major events happened, all of them odd and unexplained.
In the first year of the Blue Decade, two events happened: The end of the Dorian People, signifying the conclusion of higher learning for the next century, and the establishment of the first Expeditionary group.
Within the next year, the First Expedition had occurred and they began their travels. Next, the Barbarians of Barbaria invaded the Sand lands, being repelled within the first year of the invasion. Also, the conclusion of the Therisian Wars saw its end once the Therisian government saw its utter destruction, allowing for the reversion back into ferality.
The third year began with the reversion of Therisia into the Tundras of Doomgoth. [TBC] |

And does anyone know for sure the actual cause behind it, or was it simply a disaster of mysterious origins?
Scholars argue on that; they typically attribute it to Fate falling from the heavens, paralleling her symbolic fall, that is her fall from being a good god. |

EASY! Venezzia grew as a nomadic trading nation, and the Barbarians would occasionally trade along the coast line. Furthermore, Dorian artifacts allowed for superior trading with nomadic tribes in the desert and the Tundras of Doomgoth *was* an ancient nation. You can connect dots and figure out how things worked out for your early nation.
All in all, you're just another brick in the confines of this forum thread, so make a story to fit into the bigger picture. (+10 points if you saw what I did there.) |

I think I know what to include next in the story of my nation... BUT FIRST an essay for American Historius II.
