Right now dust is very much like cod, you pick a mode and go. you get a nice kdr to gloat about and yatata What if ccp took some advice from arma
Made it a sorta roam around game.
I believe it would be beneficial to the long term survival of this game to pursue an open world element.
Still maintain the contacts section Add a npc corporate tax of 3% and give you a corporate house Pay eves to transport you Joining a player corporation gives you option to move to their district housing you could attack and claim a player corporation territory any time
Would y'all like something like this? I know I would |

In what world is this game like COD, other than the fact that both are FPS's? Really think this through, do you want to have your corp attacked at 3:00 AM while no one is online? No real chance to defend yourself. Near impossible coordination with teammates, how many EVE pilots will it take to get everybody to the same location. If your squadmates managed to get into a real full-scale battle, do you see yourself sitting around waiting 20 min, 30 min, 1 hr, 3 hrs, days for an EVE pilot to come pick you up?
Scheduled battles is the only real way for a game like this to function.
Now on the other hand, some type of roam-around feature during peace time on districts you own, which are not under attack could be very cool. Where you can walk and interact with other clones and even capsuleers in the 3rd person, much like your characters in game apartment. An idea I've had for a while is that peace-time districts could act as giant social lobbies/market areas for players to walk around in. Allowing EVE players to walk around in these same areas would be an awesome immersion into both games, and also be a great place to trade ISK and items between EVE and DUST.
But that's my thoughts on any open worldness, the mechanics on battles and such need to stay mostly the way they are

Valid points , and for cod I was referering to picking gamemodes and being zapped in
And for free roam I want it first person avle to shoot anyone. (And be shot by police npc in highsec) drop in vehicles and etc
Travel would be need some work, possibly just switch clones until good method is found
Base defense sentries and drones could protect your base And easy stolen is easy stolen back

this game is very much like cod in the sense that almost everybody i come across who's not in an organized corporation uses the same exact tactics... spray and pray or the ever so popular hiding behind teammates trend only returning fire when they're human shields have been maimed before them.. |

I can never find a good squad so I just follow random people it usually ends up forming a 5-9 man "gang" since I did this my kdr rose by like .7 per match
Any back on subject I want freeroam like arma lol maybe they could make it a super secret project and realease it for ps4 arma 514 Lol but yeah arma does it with 20-100 man servers We have steady 3500 players online. 35-50 districts would be good Add in drones wild beasts marauders and whatever else ccp can cook up have a contract finder in your quarters and ypu have a recipe for success |

The idea of Open World Gameplay in DUST is one that's been pushed by many well known, and lesser Known people since the early days of Closed Beta.
CCP have never outright said it wasn't going to happen, and most believe it is still the ideal result for a game like this. Many of us have put up multiple ways they COULD do it, but in the end, CCP will implement it the way they want to. We can only hold on, be patient, and keep the idea in the fold.
But please, instead of recreating the same idea in a different thread, use the SEARCH function, and post your support for the multitude of ideas out there about PVE, Open World, and beyond. |

Over 5000 maps, all with mercs on it need to be keep track of with this idea.
I know tranquility is military level hardware, but even it probably can't keep track of all that throughout the day.
Tech limitations man. This isn't one world we are waging wat on, it's thousands, and I have a hard time believing that even tranquility level hardware can support it all.
Just give me more **** to do through the lobby mechanic. |
