On everyones mod of choice, Damage mods.

We all pretty much use them, at least one. To the point people are almost mocked for not having at least one damage mod on their fitting.

So my topic for now is, Are Weapon damage mods TOO good? anyone else feel like their weapon is simply lacking without one? Are damage mods essentially Chrome SS skill? a must have or you can't compete? Would the game be better off without them? or limit them?

Thank you! someone who understands me and scouts. I'm spotted and like any other scout i try to run away but the guy shoots 5 bullets at me with duvolle AR (probably proficiency) and i'm dead. He had low shields so he definitely stacked damage modules.

I rather brick tank than use damage mods. However, I play a support medic Logi with an EC-3 Assault MD, so survivability takes priority over slaying.

The problem is alot worse for scouts since they have low HP anyway, but as a comparison to other mods you can have instead of damage mods, Complex shield extenders equal to letting you take an extra 1-2 bullets from AR's and scramblers. Is that REALLY worth taking over a damage mod which gives a 10% dmg increase for next to the same cost?

Got x3 damage mods on my proto amarr assault, not like I can put anything else there since I don't believe in dual-tanking.

Complex damage mods should maybe be knocked down a couple of percent, but in most situations you'll want a balance of tank and damage mods.

Also CCP should really add some different high slot modules, so that you actually have to make some interesting choices and sacrifices when filling out your highs.

I think damage mods are intensely unimaginative. There's basically no reason to run anything but complex, and there's basically no reason to not run complex half the time.

As a heavy, I can assure you that nothing else belongs in your high slots, unless you like tickling things to death.

I agree to this, I tried shield buffer, but even only a 2 dmg bonus per bullet on my Gastun seems like a massive differnce.

This. It's all about armor tanking with Amarr.

Well, I'm kind of torn about damage mods. I think if they got rid of them it would make for more interesting fits and help a lot of the QQing. On the other hand, rocking 3 complex on a duvolle is the closest thing to God Mode in this game....

The thing is people can afford to run damage mods since armor is so good who cares if your 300+ shields drop quick especially if you have 400+ armor waiting...

CCP has demolished this game by making every class a cookie cutter class and adding aim assist to ensure those 3damage mods connect at full force no matter your speed or tank or speed tank..

I miss the days where you feared proto suits and clinched your butthole tight when you seen a fast scout approaching..

Now we all just spin circles throwing ARs everywhere, **** I've even seen heavies running around with an AR..

My question is who runs regulators/energizers anymore :( the caldari way was thrown out the window with omni tanking..

I miss straffing in and out of cover and watching my shields pulse back to life....

You think people don't still take damage mods? turn that 15% dmg buff to 25-30% increase?
