While this could create some balance, the differences in tiers feels too extreme. I would only recommend a 5pt increase per level if anything.
Additionally, and this is a big point, WP based on suit disparity would highly encourage more players to choose the role of the sniper. Simply theorycrafting here, a high proficiency Std. Minmatar Assault can fit a Charge Sniper 2x Complex Dmg Mods, 1x Enh Dmg Mod, Complex CPU, and 1x X-3 Quantum Nanohive.
This highly economized suit can output over 450 dmg per shot from over 400 meters with 30 additional rounds to spare before resupply. Again these figures are calculated on a high SP character.
A). It would have to be based on meta level disparity, not tier disparity. That's the only way to fix the issue Sir Jadek here brings up. The total meta level of the suit you run compared to the total meta level of your enemies suit would have to gauge your WP income per kill.
B). It would be a long and drawn out fight to see this implemented.
C). It's about time that the meta levels that the game lists go towards doing something as they have been in game this whole time and effect nothing directly.
For those of you who don't know, the meta level of your suit is the combined meta level of every item you equip plus the meta level of the suit itself. The meta level of individual modules/weapons/etc can be found by pressing triangle while an item is highlighted while viewing your market place, assets or fitting screen and looking in the tabs that are brought up.
As for SHOULD it be implemented? I wouldn't mind it, but I don't see it happening any time soon. It's been suggested LOOOONG ago (back in the pre-Codex days I believe) and it's not even an active discussion these days, but if you push it long enough it might just happen. It would certainly cut down on OB's unless all the good players suddenly all switch to militia gear, in which case they are giving up the advantage of superior gear. And I don't see the better players in our game sacrificing their precious K/D for that.
Of course this would also go a ways towards balancing tanks and their access to OB's as well since decent tank fits run high in meta level anyway. I wonder what a tankers reaction would be if their tanks became balanced but 90% of the people they killed only gave them 5-15 WP a piece.
