If any of you got the most recent news letter from Dust 514, you will see that people that were innactive since August 8th, get 100 of two types of suits, these suits were either event suits or rare as it was I believe. Now, I do not mean to ***** about people getting free items, but what about all of us that have put time in on the game, dealt with scotty constantly messing up on the match making, the ridiculous events where we got basically scraps compared to what they are giving people who just decided to not play the game. Yes, in the same e-mail we got 20 hunter scout suits but so did they, I'm not saying giving away promotional items is a bad thing, far from it, but when you have people being a loyal customer base, dealing with all the problems, helping you out as they can and playing your game, I would least think more consideration should be put towards them.
My proposal is a very simple and modest one, I do not want to devalue what is being given or offered to those returning, but I want a piece of the pie, even if it is a very small piece. I want 10 of each suit that the people returning are getting, I don't want 100 of each, I just want 10, something to say that I was valued also, that they are actually thinking about us as well for more then just a meal ticket. If this is not possible I would like a coupon from the company for say 10-25% off a purchase of more then 25 dollars, this would boost revenue for the company through higher end sales if this is again to much, I would love to see what a counter offer would be or show of appreciation.
I hope this is taken seriously and not just me trying to troll or QQ, I just feel that giving people 200 very good suits for returning and the player base nothing is well...shoddy and insulting. |

i thought it was 60?
I had the number 100 stuck on my mind at the time, I changed that to August 8th to give an exact date, so yes I was wrong on that but I corrected it with an editation I believe. However, the point of what I am trying to say is that the people who were absent that did not participate in the game are getting 200 dropsuits, while we who played, some of us paid were not given anything, this I see as not balanced because we were providing feedback, trying out events and so forth, and not all of it was fun like when Scotty decided to mess up for an entire week during patch launch week and many other issues that have come up. |

Alright, lets pretend all things being equal, that the game didn't have any glaring bugs like Scotty messing up horribly for a week, patches not working right etc. and go upon a numerical basis of what is occuring. 60/7=8.5weeks, so we'll go with a flat 8 to keep things simple, and we'll assume that I did a full SP run every week which I did not cause I have a life, but we're going with the most ideal world here, 8*190,000=1,520,000 and for good measure we'll say that I made 30 million in ISK total after suit expenses. Alright that being said, to accomplish this I have put in 80 hours over the past 8 weeks on a single game beta testing it (game basically is still in beta to be honest). So in a way I have done 8 weeks of testing for them and helping them out, even though playing a game.
All of that being said a player who did not do anything over the past 8 weeks does not get the ISK or active SP, what they get is 200 items, and I'm making the assumption these are Aurum based items, since they are not in shop and you could only win them through rare events so double Aurum 40 Aurum a suit, this might actually be a bit low, but I'm giving you the best case scenario, so 40*200=8,000 Aurum or 4 dollars more realistically around 5 with how prices work on Dust, so as this shows, I did not get a "huge" leg up on the competition and the rewards for those coming back are not huge either, however, they did get something that I can not get unless I pay a real world currency, this is why I am not asking for 100 suits, just 10 or something to say they value my consumership as well. |
