Hello everyone. It has been a long time since I landed on these forums. I just want to personally come here an show my thanks for all that you have done for my family.
As a gamer we are all privy to the wickedness of some and the comardirty of others. I saw that some people once again took reality for granted becasue they think this virtual world we live in doesnt matter. Yet so many of you have shown otherwise.
So many of you my enimes, allies and friends have supported me through these times of hardship. Thank you.
You donations allowed me to stay near my sons hospital for the last two months without me losing my house. I am approaching very tuff descions soon on how I am going to juggle work an my sons health in order to keep my home, but you all have made these last 2 months so much easier for my family. Thank you
He is 3 days shy of 2 mothns old today. THat is a gift all in itself. CCP thank you for creating a world that I and many others can belong to. Your community here has accpeted me an my men, challenged us to be great, and when we fell upon dark times they lifted us up an saved us.
So many of you may not understand just yet the feeling that a father has for his son, yet all of you responded with such generosity an love and care that you have blown me away. I tell alot of people I meet about STB, about Dust, about all of you. They then go on here or other forums that I have been apart of and see the true nature of gamers.
This a prime example of what humanity is. We are a species of understanding an comapssion. You all should know I have never felt the amount of love you all poured out to me. Your support, care an prayers kept my fire lit. In the darkest hours an the toughest moments I was reminded of how many of you still want to shoot at me an my son when we finally get back on Dust.
Reality has a funny way of warping things in a game. Thank you for putting everything aside an giving me an my family hope. I hope to send a true heart felt apology on an episode of BOTG if its still airing when I hope I can take my son home one day.
Just an offical update now that my mushy sentimental stuff is finished.
Weston will be going on dyalsis soon for his kidneys. When he reaches 18-22 pounds he will undergo surgery for a kidney transplant. He requires daily platlettt transfusisons due to a blood disorder that casuses an enzemye in his blood to destroy his platlets an red blood cells. Docotrs are trying to figure out what it is in order to treat it. He needs a few surgerys in prepartion for dyalsis an transplant. Weston also suffers from hyperbullirubin. A condition that turns him yellow an marks a level of liver dysfunction. He is almost 8 weeks old an has had about 43 blood transfuisions. So if your the giving type, please check out your local blood drives and help restock the shelves. Weston will be in the hosptial for a long time, he will need weekly visists even after I am able to take him home. Right now the biggest issues is the blood disorder an kidney disease. THey need to fix the blood disorder in order for Weston to have surgery. Bleeding complications are keeping us from moving forward. During a MRI scan they noticed that Weston also sustained a level of brain damage to his frontal lobe. They do not know the level of damage jsut yet.
Many things are happening but every morning I get up an look at my son. That is only possible becasue of all of you. Thank you.

Update: So after a week and a half of progress we hit another wall. Weston has been doing awesome since about Christmas eve. Over the last 3 days his health has declined dramatically. This has been a bad week for Weston. Early this he had breathing issues an had to go back onto the ventilator. His Red blood cells an platelets once again dropped an required yet another transfusion. His lungs had collapsed an needed support. His hear began to have issues dropping to low levels. His potassium spiked. An echo-cardiogram was done of his heart that showed abnormalities in the vessels. narrowing of his veins and/or fused valves in his heart. I do not understand it in detail, waiting for the carido team to come talk to us. They ran infection screenings an Weston has contracted E coli, as well as developing an UTI. He is on antibiotics to treat both. So as it stands now, Weston is once again on the pattern of getting better then having some sort of crash every month. ITs frustrating. HE is a warrior and has battled through issues like this before an I hope he stills has some strength in him to keep fighting. I am very worried about his heart an hat that could mean for us. Also he will having an upper GI contrast study done to see if his internal anatomy is the way it should be in preparation for his numerous surgery's. |
