Shotty GoBang deserves to get featured in a Community Spotlight for his fantastic work for Dust's scout community.

Over in the Scout Registry thread - biggest threadnaught ever - his tireless efforts in maintaining the scout killboard, testing stuff, advising scouts new and old and just generally keeping the scout community's spirits up is absolute gold for this game.

I'm 100% positive that his work has kept quite a few players in the game, and have also been a major contribution to keeping the game diverse. Many more people would've been unable to put up with the trials and tribulations of the scout role without the registry.

do the scouts have a "main" chat channel? ( kinda like how honey badger is for tankers)

Thanks guys, but I must decline on the grounds of (1) selfish motivation, (2) nothing new to say, and (3) much more qualified candidates.

(1) We are b*stards and scoundrels, and I am no exception. Make no mistake; the Scout Registry is a purely selfish pursuit. I want a buff for Assassins, and the Registry is a roundabout means of supporting this desire.

(2) TacNet changes have helped, but the "Fall of the Scout" remains largely unaddressed. Scout nerfs have accumulated since 1.0 without a single reversal, and our tools of assassination remain bugged and imbalanced. In the mean time, AR-514 "EZ Mode" is made easier build after build. The entitled majority has the nerve to imply that we're "doing it wrong" while seeking to ensure that our disadvantage persists. They are afraid of an effective Assassin, and would prefer Scouts to be permanently relegated to recon-only roles. This is the feedback I'd offer CCP. Such a rant would not aid in accelerating our redemption; such a rant would do more harm than good to publish. That said, I believe that Dust has room for an Assassin class, and I believe CCP is working on our Christmas Hugs.

(3) As it were, our Brotherhood has chosen to use the Scout Registry as an info exchange and support group. The Community as a whole is deserving of accolade. Furthermore, there are many among us less motivated by selfish gain and more deserving of recognition:

• Maken Tosch has forgone personal glory as Knifing Instructor to Dust's newest members.
• Bojo has circulated numerous guides on Scouting, one of which inspired me to Scout.
• Lightning xVx, Travi Zyg, and Kodho have founded Scout Training Corps.
• Aeon Amadi conducts most of our experiments and lobbies against his own on our behalf.

Oh well. If you don't want it, you don't want it. But even if your motivations for the Scout Registry are entirely selfish, it has improved the scout community in a way that wouldn't have happened if you hadn't started it. So there
