Hi CCP, I was giving some though to turrets and other destructable buildings, and thought that destroying CRU's and Supply Depots become game changing in their absence. I'd like to encourage creating more destructible buildings, that don't shoot people - thereby creating more variety in the games and maps, without having arbitrary guns shooting people.

 For example:

 - if there was a good size building that had a shield around it, within which firepower could not penetrate, or be fired out of, until the shields were down. This would end up as a hardpoint on the map, unless destroyed. It could be used strategically, without actually killing anyone.

-Those concrete wedges that prevent access to vehicles in parts of the map. If those were destroyed, the consequences could reshape the battle.

Any other installations ideas out there that people would like to see?

I like this idea. There is one map in particular (Don't know many of the map names) where one entrance to the city section is a destroyed chunk of outer wall. I always thought it would be cool if enough explosives could be used to destroy any chunk of wall like that.

On a related note: Something else I wouldn't mind seeing, is some interactive map features, such as opening/closing gates, which could possibly be hacked or destroyed by the opposing team.

Yep i would love to be able to make my own way into a building. Would be cool to be able to take out some of the annoying sniper nests also by blowing multiple holes through the base of the building.

Making buildings as installations to make them destructibe? GENIUS!

How about alien wildlife running around that could possibly kill you.

How about alien wildlife running around that could possibly kill you. Our shielded and armored dropsuits are way too OP for some random organism.

Yes, this is the point here, not to make every building destructible,or to attempt the make it Frostbite engine, but to use the installation encoding, and make more buildings of that sort. (not more stupid turrets)

I remember one map where the losing team blew up all of the supply depots, and even though we were slaying them, eventually we had to have runners to bring nanohives from the redline in order to keep people supplied. I want to see more situations develop like that.

If they are going to have destructable environments I really hope it is kind of like Red Faction. I don't mean that you should be able to punch down walls just that almost everything can be blown up or knocked down. More destruction = more fun.

Interactive doorways sound really cool. Better yet, interactive local security systems around interior null cannons. Let's say in the research facility, there is a terminal that can be hacked which will prevent the opposing team from passing through appropriate doorways in a given area. The team that owns the security system can pass through doorways no problem, but the opposing team either has to blow up security doors individually or blow up the security terminal/installation.

I don't think buildings should become completely destructible, though. Destruction is nice, but if a couple tanks can decimate an entire portion of the map, I don't think the infantry will be too happy (at least for one side).

Happens a lot when there is a logi with nanohives near me :) well assuming my team can keep infantry off me while i FG everything in sight into oblivion. The CRU's and Supply depots take quite a few rounds to blow up though so unless there is a nanohive nearby i wont bother with them.

Quite possibly the best idea on the forums. +1

I think Splinter Cell had a system like that in it's multiplayer.

 Sounds awesome.
